U18: WJC U18 - Grand Forks, North Dakota (14th - 24rd April)

Fitzpatrick was terrible in that game. Hate to put the blame on a goalie but he was abysmal

That being said, Canada had their chances to win it once they tied it and didnt.
 
Fun game, but watching paint dry on a wall is more exciting then that overtime period.

If your going to play overtime like that might as well just call it midway through and start the shootout.

That was a joke.
 
Personally I prefer if they let the game end with a real game goal instead, even if would take all night long.

First time we get outshoot in the tournament, so it would not have been unfair if canada would have won it, but we had 2 times a 2 goal lead.

First time since 99 sweden and finland is facing eachother in the final. Both finland and sweden is having 2 of the youngest teams in the tournament as well.
 
Games in the semifinals onward should not be decided by shootout. Sudden death OT until a goal
 
This means going to the SO isn't an automatic loss for Sweden. Still don't like SO in these tournaments, at the U18 level OT won't last very long.

So stupid. I'll probably just watch some of the gold game tomorrow.

Very disappointing for a really good Canadian team to lose like that, but such is life in international hockey I guess. There's a reason they don't do shootout in the NHL during the playoffs.

It wasn't Fitz's best game, still he made plenty of excellent saves...There were just too many keystone cops moments in our zone. On the 4th Swede goal ( Think it was ) our boyz just quit skating and got caught watching the puck.

Our Boyz dominated for long stretches and maybe deserved a better fate...But both teams played their hearts out...

Among 2017 draft eligable players Lias Andersson and Pettersson right now is the best scoring players after Yamamoto, that has cold down a bit after his strong start of the tournament. Nice to see that they can preform here to.

You can't expect more than 10 minutes of overtime, when the kidz gotta play the next day...
