It led to a USA crossbar so I guess the results were there with the little chip play but I would have liked to see Knies lower the shoulder off the halfboards and just used his frame to drive to the net there.

That’s a great way to put it. Not every prospect needs to be a potential star. The NHL needs solid 3-4th liners & good depth defenders

He’s had flashes. But, Switzerland’s physicality and tight defense has made it difficult for him. Had a few nice shots, but ultimately the 2nd line has been shut down.

Keep an eye on him in the third. Switzerland looks beat.

Puck has bounced off of his stick a few times and he seems to be deferring a bit IMO. He took the penalty in the 1st also but on the brighter side, he was 4-0 in the faceoff dot in the 1st period.

Yeah, that and the ice looks noticeably poor, not great for skill guys like Cooley.
