While I don't know the financial situation of the Czech hockey federation, funding would be a reasonable explanation. Lots of talented players won't bring you far if you don't have enough professional coaches and rinks for the juniors.

But holy damn, is the man incapable of turning the mental game in these kids? It's 100% mental. They're not worse than literal kids at playing hockey, so why isn't he trying at least something to inspire them to loosen the grip on the stick and connect a goddamn basic pass? Or holy damn, 2-3 passes in a row, look up the ice and get a a goddamn shot on net?
