Not watching but here are the lines.

It is now 2-1. No Jiricek or Kulich. Looks like a decent roster though. Hope they tie it up.

The Latvian coach experimenting with some random forward lines vs. Norway, including Polakovs on the top line even though he probably won't be playing in the WJC. At least if it was up to me.

At times I am repulsed at how we play in our defensive end with heads down only seeing the puck and making god awful plays, but we are still better at every department compared to Norway.

Locmelis and Vilmanis seem to be a tier above anyone else on the ice.

A cruising 5-1 lead so far.

We must fix a number of things ASAP tho, and I'm not particularly impressed with how we're playing overall.

I know Norway is missing their top line, but I after seeing them today I have changed my mind and I can't really see them making the play-offs.

I very much disagree about the Noren hit. Definitely looked like the head was the primary point of contact. They didn't call a penalty at the time but it's possible it gets reviewed before the tournament starts.

Havelid got absolutely lit up, pretty much deciding the Sweden goaltending situation.

The US started slow, but picked it up as the game went on. Smith looks awesome. Also, breaking news… don’t take penalties against the US.

Defender crouches down, which I think they take into account, but no doubt he hit him in the head.

let me explain better: it's not a headshot, it's a guy getting rocked through the body whose head was also down.

Inadvertent contact, nothing worth being upset over, sometimes you're going to get hurt when you get hit.

Any hit with head contact is a penalty by IIHF rules.

Not only was it a headshot, the extension of the arm by Nazar into the head looks very damning. I would not be surprised if he sits out a couple as a result. No place for hits like that in the game.

A headshot should indicate backward movement of the head and neck.

what a load of shit. plenty of room for clean hits like that in the game. What was so wrong about it that it's not a hockey play?

What head contact? The hit player buckling and crashing his face into an otherwise legal check is not the same as head contact. One would presume "head contact" deals with high hits and not any open ice check where head contact happens to be an inadvertent result of the collision.

That's why he was immediately and obviously not up for a penalty despite protests...

”Crashing his face into an otherwise legal check”. Yes, that’s still head contact. Head contact = Penalty. Intentional or not, primary point of etc does not matter at all. Rules are simple. What you think is irrelevant.
