We almost made a whole game without this silliness.
So so close, would have been a first..........but nearing crunch time in a close game that was not supposed to be a close game just proved too much.

Finland are terrible. It's actually a close game. Finland playing without intensity and all that classic Finnish sisu soul. On top of that? I don't see any finesse or smart plays. This looks scary bad but thank heaven it's the first game and not against Canada.
The Canadians will destroy us with seven or twelve goals.
But nice goal with Koivunen and Lambert assisting. Good awareness from both of them, especially Koivunen.

Beautiful pass by Lambert on the Helenius goal. Big save before that by the Finnish goalie followed by a huge defensive play by Helenius preventing a tap in.

So was last year according to hfboards. I don't even bother to analyze this team until QF, i've seen beer league level hockey until they play back against the wall and then canadian easton stick breaks and woops we're in the final.

Lambert has been very good. The skill is there for a #1 C if your team is good with development.

Munzenberger had an excellent shot that the Finnish goalie saved before the sequence went back the other way. There’s several good sequences for him.
He’s been a noticeable player for the Germans. I actually think overall the German team as a whole has battled pretty well.
The Finns are the better team but it’s been a decently competitive game.

Big hit just called for an interference. That’s a bad call the Finnish player had the puck.

The Germans had a couple more guys who could create offense and this game could have been won by them IMO.
