MRI tomorrow so I think he's done. I was hoping for a charlie horse or somethign but I don't think they do an MRI for those.lol
Could still be a bruised knee and the swelling is making it too hard to assess.

The little wobble after the collision is what concerns me.

Made me think of the US-Czech quarterfinal in Victoria in the 2019 tournament. One leather-lunged fan (we like cheering against the US) was trying to get the crowd into a "let's go Czech" (and managing to make "Czech" into a two-syllable word). It... failed. Still better than the two guys behind us who kept referring to the team in white as "Czechoslovakia."
Long story short: Canadians take a long time to learn new things.

Dmen Power, Guhle, Jiracek, Sebrango are exciting to watch. If Jiracek's gone for awhile, it'd be really sad. Kid's a stud. Thought this Chezchia team was stronger than some of the higher ranked countries in this tournament.

LOL.. I still hear Czechosolovakia from time to time on the broadcasts. I mean, they are clearly 2 different teams.haha
I kept hearing Rey with Chechia (no 'n') so CheChia... sounds awful and so wrong.

I thought the fist period by Canada was one of the sloppiest I have seen Canada play at a WJC. Obviously they capitalized on their PP and took advantage of the melt down by their opposition in the 2nd. They have the fire power but this team has a long ways to go. The defensive structure, if one could call it that, was incoherent at best in all three zones.
I know it’s the first game after only one exhibition but ……as the tourney goes on lets see if they begin to play a game that doesn’t resemble the 80’s Oilers

Seems to me I had heard about the country's plea for people to stop with the anglicization of the name a few years back, but I thought it was "Che-Chee-Ya" too. I'll only make that mistake another 14 or 15 times ;-). Prague's one of my favourite cities, btw: it was our last international trip before the world went to hell. Would like to see more of the country next time.

The weirdest thing to me is the Czechs want to be called Czechia but their jerseys clearly say Czech Republic. It's silly.lol Definitely a beaut country to visit!

I might be in the minority, but I still feel Cossa should be given the chance to be the starter for Team Canada. He is just as athletic and intelligent in the net as Garand, but he is 6 foot 7 and 30 pounds bigger also. I would hope that he gets to start the next game. I thought a couple of goals Garand allowed in the First Period were bad ones. Garand should not be the automatic starter just because he is a returning player.

Kane/Kucherov are the two stylistic comps I see. It will be up to him to put in the work to try to get to that level, but I am quite happy with his development so far and see big things for him moving forward.
Shane Wright needs to pick things up big time if he wants to continue to center a top 2 line. He was absolutely invisible out there tonight. What is the teams back up plan if he can't get things done? I guess they could move Bedard or Perfetti to center and advance a winger like Guenther.

I mentioned it in the other thread but its going to be interestig what happens here. Garand definitely opened the door for his job to be taken. They had Brochu backing up tonight though so is he the guy they go to next? I doubt it but who knows?
I think they have to at least give Cossa a shot to play a game after getting an actual warm up and knowing hes starting. I dont think you play Brochu over a guy like him because of one bad half of a pretourney game but who knows with Dave Cameron?
