Yesssss, hopefully this takes some pressure off him and he can ride the momentum

This is so predictable it's not even funny. I bring up legit concerns about Byfield and he goes ape shit on the scoreboard in the game. Never fails.

Turcotte sucks cause he had 0 points in a 7-0 win... 10 point game incoming next

Byfield has only been involved in 67% of Canada's goals in this game. The kid needs to learn how to give 100%, maybe 110%.

That monkey on his back just got hit with an 18 wheeler. Byfield 20 pounds lighter

Hope he can continue

My argument would be that he was putting in the same effort in the first two games when it came to the forechecking, backchecking, and creating turnovers that he did today. Was he amazing the first two games? Of course not, but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort. He was just finally rewarded on the scoreboard today.

Could very well be. I didn't get to watch the game yet, but my main concern from the previous games was his inability to control the puck.. he kept bobbling it or straight up losing control. Also his decisions on the cycle were questionable at best. And all of that could very well just be rust. It's great to see he's converting chances now and hopefully that will continue into the next games.

Oh look, all the fanboys with kings colored glasses coming in to say told you so.

You are just as annoying as those comparing him to Andreoff.

Not like there is any nuance or room for criticism. Oh we forgot points don’t mean everything and WJC has no intrinsic value in analyzing said player.

It’s nice seeing him take this step. Hoping this is a boost for him and he continues to roll.

It sure seems like a lot (all?) of it is tongue-in-cheek.

Yes, it’s much more productive to jump to conclusions after limited ice time. Let’s go back to doing that. Go ahead and post your reasons for us to be worried about Byfield again.

QB needs to request his wallet be custom branded with “Bad Motherf***er”.

“Say what again”!

Byfield with six points. Now is the time to move him while his value is high.

I have been clear from the start. Never called him a bust. Said I’ve yet to see him dominate a world stage with better competition. Said I hoped he would still do so. This is the game I was looking for and hoping for. Dude has figured in the scoring and had a major impact against the worst team in the tournament. Doesn’t make him a HOFer yet either does it Zig?

This is an encouraging step and a bit of validation to ease some concerns. Happy for it.

The actual team Austria would like a word.
