No finish on this Canadian team. They're going to be in big trouble when when run head-long into teams like the USA or Sweden.

But on a positive note, I thought Mynio looked solid. Picked up an assist on Price's rather fluky shot from the point. But seemed to get short-shifted a bit in the third period.

But you can quickly see why the Canucks are excited about him. His skating really stands out. He just glides around the ice and has a very quick stick. Hopefully he lands in Abbotsford by March.

It’s nice actually having some blueline prospects to get excited about. Willander and Mynio, and Kudryatsev and Pettersson already in Abbotsford. Hope some of these guys can make the leap. (I think Willander will in a few months)

to me thats the biggest takeaway from watching Willander this WJC, I don't like his in zone defending at all. Disappointed, because I liked the pick. It was between Willander/Perreault/Wood, that I wanted the canucks to draft.

I feel his defending in zone hasn't improved much since his draft. I was expecting him to be more physical - doesn't look like he added much weight/size since his draft.
I agree with this, I was expecting him to be much more physically dominant during this tournament. I’d like to see an edge added to his game with some snarl.

I'm still kinda shocked hes one of the best dman available for Canada under 20. Huge surprise. Glad he made it.

zack benson for me. But who Willander does well for us otherwise another blown pick is too much for us.

If they could stay out of the box. Far too many penalties.

I would like to see some real marinating on some of these prospects. Not only to be fully ready but also raise the level of competition in Abbotsford.

Carter Yamechuk and Zayne Parehk both have the most PIM among the defencemen that were brought to the Canucks selection camp.

It’s like we’re watching completely different tournaments
I've always found that some Canucks fans think that the league plays like Miller does. Even though there's probably 10 forwards that play like that and Petey is one of them.

Out of 89 D that played more than 20 minutes a night last year. Hronek was 27th in hits. I've never heard of Hronek and physical mentioned anywhere.

Price has been pretty good. Easily been there best dman.

Mynio in his limited minutes looked very good. I love this prospect tbh. He’s an all situations defenseman and is the Quinn Hughes of his junior team.
Other than the personal eye test which could differ from person to person. There is the ratings of flashscore. 🤪

Schaefer 7.6
Bonk 7.1
Price 7.1
Mynio 6.9

Since the other half is now wondering.

ASP 9.0 1st
Willander 7.9 3rd in the tournament.

Mynio sure looks like a player. Sure nice having him, Willander, Pettersson, and Kudryavtsev all showing well.

Remember the days just before Hughes was drafted, and our hopes were pinned on Juolevi, Rathbone, and Jordan Subban?

F in disaster.

Juolevi doesn’t even stay in the nhl even as a bottom pairing dman
I had to go check to see if he was even playing. Says he won a tittle last year but hasn't played yet this season. Injured again I'd guess. Benning was always good at finding top talents for the European leagues in the draft.

Willander is so good at breaking the puck out while under pressure and looking calm doing it. His defense off the rush is also excellent. Very excited to see him in Vancouver at the end of the season. The Canucks are really lacking a D man who fits Willander’s profile.

Transition game should be improved massively with Hughes, Hronek, Willander + another puck mover on the backend.
