Excellent Pass (Assist) by Wallinder ices it for Sweden
If it was Bedard or someone making that pass the Canadian announcers would be creaming their pants.Very accurate call on that... a pass so bad it's good.
He just wasn't close to 100%. Even by his own words he was hampered by injuries and food poisoning and felt he was several levels below normal.Edvinsson was good enough, but it felt like he wasn't playing his game. Very little offense, very little holding onto the puck. It felt like coaches told him not to activate, which is strange considering he was doing it constantly in December (and to great success). For a team that really lacked offense and puck movement, that seems in retrospect to be a questionable coaching decision.
Disagree, I think he's been average or slightly below average since his concussion. I don't care if he was God-like 8-12 months ago, the past 8 months he has not been as good as he should be.As far as disappointments go, people are focusing too much on Edvinsson. We've seen Edvinsson play much better for like 95% of the last calendar year.
Niederbach however is going into a huge year and timing-wise this tournament is right on track for him (same time as SHL pre-season), and on this forward group he had an opportunity to step up. He basically showed nothing. I have zero concern for Edvinsson, but a lot for Niederbach.
Average compared to?Disagree, I think he's been average or slightly below average since his concussion. I don't care if he was God-like 8-12 months ago, the past 8 months he has not been as good as he should be.
Pretty high expectations then. First half was best of all time caliber, 2nd half was still very good for his age.Expectations.
To quote Andrey Arshavin, you expectations are your own problemsExpectations.
No one knew he was under the weather until a few days ago. Did you know about it? Are you an insider? No one thinks they are a genius, it was just observations that a few here take a little too much to heart. There's nothing wrong with discussing his play at a tournament. No one said his nhl career was doomed or that he was a bust because of his poor performance. Relax.Guy had food poisoning, and played a full hockey game, which is notorious for taking a ton of energy and sweat. Yet you have people in here thinking they are geniuses for saying he should’ve played better. No shit, anyone playing during or while getting over an illness where you shit your brains out is gonna be below average. His play today was a return to form. Go figure.
Very skilled but so weak on his feet. Fell down a bakers dozen times in one game.I agree. He was their most dangerous forward in the games I saw.
I know there’s language barriers on here but words have meanings, when someone says something opposite of what they mean like “could care less” don’t be surprised when someone calls out/asks for clarification.Make it out of camp and being on the day 1 roster. Is what that generally means.
He’s had an awful tournament. Points are so deceiving.Wow is Andrea having a bad game. A good reminder that this is a short tourney and while Andrea had a good game a few games ago, he will never be better than some other players on Sweden and he has been quite overplayed.
One thing i notice about edvinsson is, before faceoffs hes always talking strategy with players and signalling where to go. Looks like a confident leader. That is something I like.
