He got a renewed 1-year deal with a higher salary. That alone is enough for me to know that they will play him in a proper role.

I bet more posters will come, and without reading any info posted by those more familiar with KHL and Traktor specifically, will be suggesting that somehow there is concern over Kravtsov's playing time with Traktor.
One additional point I made before: it's at BEST 50/50 proposition at this point that Kravtsov will participate in this year's WJC, similar to how it's highly unlikely that Dahlin and Svetch will go because they will be with Buffalo and Caroline, respectively.
Admittedly, that was one of my concerns prior to the announcement that he’d be going back. But after reading through this thread and seeing he got a raise on his contract, I’m comfortable with their decision. I have to think that Gorton and the rest of the front office did their due diligence and spoke with Traktor about the entire situation, prior to agreeing to let Kravtsov finish his contract.
The Rangers really had no control to “let” him stay there.
How so?
They are millionaire professional athletes living in the 21st century. The bonding experiences and ease of learning due to being in a home country are very antiquated.
Traveling from Moscow to NYC for a healthy in shape millionaire who already plays in a pro league and would have MSG and NYCs finest opportunities wouldn't exactly experience culture shock.

If he's a go to guy for his KHL team then yeah I could see them keeping him home rather than letting him go to the WJC. If you're a major part of your pro team then I don't see any reason to go to the WJC
That is far from a sure thing. We'll see when the season starts.Exactly. He's top 6 forward for Traktor to start the season.

Oh don't get me wrong, I absolutely believe he should and will...but with the KHL and young players i've learned it's just never a sure thing till I see it, or this case see him playing in a top 6 role.He ended the season in the top-6, got a renewed contract with a higher salary and the team hasn't acquired any additional forwards who are definitely better than him. Most acquisitions are there to replace others who were on their way out.

I am glad that they haven't acquired any players better than him, I didn't know that.

You've been saying it since Kravtsov was drafted and a question of where he plays next season come up. Enough time to do a little basic research / investigation instead of keep putting out post after post with this generic concern, totally baseless as it relates to Traktor and Kravtsov specifically.
You’re wasting your time. There’s not a snowballs chance in hell Flyline could even name 6 players on Traktor without looking up the roster, let alone name the players that could potentially play over Krav. You're the one that keeps bringing it up.
So please tell me what's Traktor's top 6 or top 9 should be coming into the season that make Kravtsov being a part of top6 a "far from a sure thing"? I will wait.
Haha alright...so because it's 2018 and not 1896, personal development and bonding doesn't exist any more? Got it...and I'm the one that's out of touch.
I'm not saying these guys are going to be brothers in arms, after traveling on a rickety ship, in treacherous seas, together for 2 months to get here. But it will make the transition a lot easier to have some semblance of familiarity and comfort, knowing there's 2 other guys, around your age, from the same country, doing the exact same thing.
I'm not really sure what your issue with that is, aside from the fact that you just enjoy stirring the pot.
