I'm saying that Kravtsov is a December birthday, and Kuznetsov a May birthday. Kravtsov is a full hockey year ahead of Kuznetsov playing in the KHL before he was drafted. I heard Gordie Clark start saying similar things in his post draft press conference, and I thought it was deceiving.

The only Russian of the highly-ranked ones in recent years to be drafted from the KHL as a late birthday is Tarasenko. If there's anyone we should be comparing him to with regard to production for pre-draft, and then this upcoming season, it should be Tarasenko.
A big part of it is also the amount of minutes each played. I'd be very curious to see if it's possible to compare the amount of minutes Kravtsov and Kuz each had, because the former played very, very little during the regular season.

The record of Kuznetsov that Kravtsov broke (most play off points by a teenager) was set by Kuznetsov in his D+2 year. Kravtsov did it in his D-1 year.

I hope he stays in the KHL as well. Just hope he isn't jerked around or worst case scenario convinced to stay longer (albeit it seems that his intent is to play in north america sooner rather than later)

Yeah, I completely agree. At that point, you gotta make a decision, but now? I don't really see the reason to even start discussing that, unless it happens.

Traktor isn't a big team either. I don't really think they can afford to not give a talent like Kravtsov an expanding role. Its not like SKA.

28 points in 67 games? Its kind of underwhelming. CHL is worse case scenario. I think a pro league is always better than Junior, but I also think there's a cultural aspect to these kids coming over. Even Chytil, who isn't Russian, said there's big cultural differences. He's going to have to transition eventually, but I always think its better when they are more mature.

Imagine trying to move to a country at 18 with a drastically different culture and living up to expectations of being the future of a high-profile professional sports team? Its a lot. Most 18 year olds are just trying to navigate college. I think most are a lot more ready for the change at 22, 23. There's an inordinate amount of Russian busts from NA juniors. Its not all hockey in my opinion, I think some of it is how they can mentally handle the new lifestyle.

And I'm not saying wait 3, 4 years, but at minimum, give it one full season before we start considering changing the team he'll play for.
I had only really seen positive reports about Kostin scattered throughout the year, nothing amazing but nothing all that negative, which is why I mentioned him. But good points with all the rest, I’m all for him staying overseas as long as he needs to because I don’t see a huge need to force him into the lineup in the next few seasons

I wouldn't mind if he plays in the AHL this season after seeing how much muscle Chytil put up within a year in Hartford, Kravtsov definitely needs the same diet. Also, it would be nice for him to adjust to the smaller ice, life in USA, etc.

Kravtsov had a nice interview with Bruce Beck just now. Obviously his English isn't perfect, but he spoke very well and seems like a genuinely good kid. Interestingly enough, I didn't detect any Russian accent.

He looks A LOT like Ansel Elgort.

So Gordie Clark said that he had Kravtsov as 2nd best forward in the draft. So that means if Tkachuk was still there at 9 they would take Kravtsov...

How about you read and listen to what Rangers fans are saying instead of them just complaining about the pick.

Rangers fans do not have a problem with Kravtsov. They have a problem that the Rangers picked him OVER Wahlstrom.

If Wahlstrom was picked before 9, you wouldn’t have such a backlash about the Kravtsov pick.

Maybe the experts know better than the fans.

Until he gets traded to SKA.. doesn't SKA get all the top talent... Eventually?
