Spotify Wrapped only includes January through October data, so it's missing out on things I've been listening to in the past month. And I mainly listen to podcasts on it during the day and only once in a while venture into music, but every so often I'll venture into the music section and binge a certain song or artist for a week or two. I think that skews my data a little bit, but as far as the year goes, my #1 artist was Darryl Hall & John Oates, which I would say is accurate. My #1 song of the year was from an obscure early 90s band I'd never even heard of until October when it was recommended in my Discover Weekly playlist and I played it over and over for a few days.

This is so true. Best we can do is Jersey Mike's, which is good, but not like a good local corner deli sandwich. So many chain restaurants out here. But also, no snow!

Though we might see some snow as we're headed north for the weekend, and taking the train to the Grand Canyon. Should be less crowded than the last time we went, which was Labor Day weekend.

horrible few days, went to pay for flights for my son to visit us for Christmas, discovered my cards had been used/hacked or whatever you call it, had made $1700 of room on them to afford his flights as atrocious as those prices are. Had to notify Credit bureaus, banks, all cards now cancelled but I sure as hell don`t have my $1700 and the boy will remain in Halifax for the holidays

I try to do all the right things in my personal life, I believe most people are good, this simply sucks, we don`t make a massive amount of cash, been through enough personal struggles over the last 2 years and now this.

We`ll get over it but man has this been a kick in the nuts of 2 days

That sucks Andrew. It happened to me years ago. It is a terrible feeling when you realize your credit card, Debit card and checkbook have been used.

Same here in Vegas. Haven't found a good real diner and only found 1 real good East Coast style sandwich shop.

The saving grace is there's a real deal local cheesesteak chain called Paulie's South Street Steaks that does them the real way (with or without cheese whiz) and loads the sandwiches up with meat. They also have other classic subs like Italian and French Dip. The part that sold me was they call them grinders

I went to school in Philly, and there's nothing real about steaks with Cheeze-Wiz!

Jim's was far better than Pat's or Geno's until it burned down a few months ago. Had Sonny's when I was back for a reunion in May. I will try Paulie's the next time I'm in Vegas though.

Oh, trust me I've gone all around town finding places. It's definitely a great food city. Have found awesome Greek places, obviously Mexican food, steak houses, etc.

But there is a definite lack of good Northeast style delis and pizza shops. The subs and pizza aren't that good, even places people rave about like Naked City Pizza

The thing we can't find here in AZ is good East Coast Chinese food. We've even had places use jalapeno's in the spicy dishes. That's why Su Chang's is ALWAYS on the agenda anytime we head back to Boston.

Variety is the spice of life I guess. I'll leave all the Wiz for you. Same for Pat's and Geno's. Went to Geno's with a bunch of dorm mates, because it's a thing to do. We had a great little spot called Abner's which just closed because Penn bought the whole block for a new research building, so no more Abner's.

How do all of you tip? I do $2 for every $10

sit down meal 20%
bar $1 a drink
takeout 0
anything else 0
never tipped at dunkin donuts etc
we do tip the postal carrier $40 for xmas

One thing I am real tired of is the "COVID take out charge" . Businesses are still charging 10-15 percent take out fee. I refuse to order from them.

Those type of upcharges usually never disappear. They just get renamed.

It's apparently closed, but Moody's in Waltham had excellent sandwichs, including an homage, "The Katz," which was fabulous.

Have you been to Sam Lagrassa's (44 Province St.)? I would like to try their chipolte passtrami or corned beef. Apparently, this is the lunch break go-to for downtown eaters. It's very close to where I work, and I'd like to check.

Finally, has anyone enjoyed, or not, Luke's lobster rolls, etc. in Downtown Crossing? Very pricey, but I just received *two* IRS tax refunds (after a COVID delayed year of waiting for same), and I'm game.

One of the casinos has a great NY/Jewish deli. Forgot the name its off the highway away from everything.

There is good pizza. Never had Evel Pie on fremont street? Theres also another place ill have to find the name.

You'll have the equivalent of a three-course meal with multiple coffee fills and the bill will be like 18 bucks. Diner service workers tend to be the friendliest, most easy-going people and they shouldn't get shafted because the menu is inexpensive. They don't do less works cause eggs are cheap.

100% ordered two grilled cheese with fries to go, and it was 9 bucks...gave them a 20 and said keep the change.

And make sure you give them something at Christmas time. (I know you just moved there, so likely a new barber for you, but this is going forward. I go to “great clips” there is always a different barber. Dont get my hair cut often. Used to grow it out since my ex/whatever liked it longer. I usually get a fade if I do get a cut. In Vegas I would go to my boys house he had a whole set up. Miss that.

Need to find someone who does good fades out here.

Even 15 years ago I could go get a cut for $13 or so, and it's been slowly creeping up to the point wher the last time I went to supercuts it was like $27, and round up to $30 on the tip, which is ridiculous to have to spend every 12 weeks or so.

I understand it economically since the industry is predatory and there's a lot of bloat, the stylist has to rent their space in the salon at most places and supply their own equipment, then the salon takes a cut of every haircut on top of that as well (especially the big chains like Supercuts or Great Clips), so it all adds up. I end up going to the supercuts because it's a level of standardization I can at least trust. Ideally I'd like to find a local barbershop but not really knowing any of them out here it's a big gamble to go to a new place not knowing what to expect.

I miss the barbershop I used to go to back in NH because at the end they'd touch up the back of your neck with a straight razor and it's among the greatest sensations in the world.
