Wife is still holding out....no heat until Dec...60 in house this morning....not bad..

We will see if she changes her mind when the nights get down to the teens soon

54 in our house this morning. I told my husband yesterday that I wasn't ready for heat yet but we were getting there.

He told me to get a blanket.

It's really not that bad except for when my hands get cold - hard to type and I work from home mostly.

Did you move back here or do they have Kellys in Florida?

Theyre building one here. Opens December and dude who hired me said theyre building 12 more locations.

Oh yeah Kellys hired me
Had a second interview at Race track for shift manager. But Kellys gave me more $ than I expected and there are opportunities for growth as well.

Dont think ill ever move back. Snow……nope

Congrats and good luck. And don't blame you on the snow.

Isn't it obvious? It looks like a bear whacked out on crystal meth.

Well, I think calling him a "meth bear" is hurtful, derogatory and ignorant. It is a form of bullying. Language like this can scar an individual for life; it has no place in contemporary society.

Did you, or others who have used this disgusting phrase, ever consider asking the bear what personal pronoun it prefers?

Shame on you.

I'm on automatic delivery, every 4-6 weeks they fill the tank. Our building is both old & huge (120 years old, 3 stories, about 8500 square feet) and while we've done things like insulation, storm doors etc. the place leaks heat like a sieve. I had to put locks on the thermostats, some of the tenants would crank the heat up to 75 and then open the f***ing windows
Do you charge them gas every month or are utilities included?

I once shared a house with some guys and utilities were included but we were all responsible about it, then right before I moved out some new guy came in to one of the open rooms and he would just leave his window AC running all day long when he wasn't there, we had to give him a talking to about that one (financially and environmentally stupid)

Utilities (heat, hot water) are included in rent. As I mentioned putting locks on the thermostats & getting rid of the problem tenants resolved the issue. It won't happen again believe me!

I would think a meth addicted bear has more important things to deal with than the misuse of pronouns. Besides, I believe in tough love.

Went all day with a migraine yesterday that finally put me out around 9pm. Not that weird until you consider i normally go to bed between 12 and 2am. I slept nearly 12 hours and woke up with a headache.

When does this end?

That's good.

Our house has solar and I found even having had the AC on for most of August/September it still came out with a credit. Of course, we're paying monthly payments on the panels themselves thanks to the previous owners of the house getting themselves locked in a dumb contract. The problem is that the heat is on gas so if you leave it on overnight at a reasonably low temp like 68, the bill shoots up. I should probably get a plug-in electric heater instead of trying to warm the whole house. It never gets cold enough here that pipe freezing is a threat.

Chuck, if you mostly wake up with them you may want to talk to your doc about a sleep test.
I suffered for years. Turns out I had bad apnea. My cpap therapy has changed my life.
Rarely ever have morning headaches anymore. Get good sound sleep.

*Of course you do.*

You have no idea -- none -- what it's like to be a meth addicted, personal pronoun bereft bear living in a society that spews venom at those who require a safe word to fend off a trigger word.

Buy a clue, hater.

They usually develop mid day, but i do on occasion wake up behind the 8 ball. I’ll ask about it for sure. Thanks!

Got about 3 inches today in the Chicago burbs. Wet, heavy and slushy. Good news is that the roads retained enough heat that it pretty much melted on contact with the paved surfaces. Accumulated on the grass though. Got up to about 38 this afternoon, so most of it has melted off. Only had to shovel the patio for the dogs.....

Freezing rain has started...3-5 inches of a snow expected....not that I need it now, but I wish I had changed the oil in the snowblower like I wanted to last weekend...

This is Meth Bear's cousin, 'Cocaine Bear'. In the 1980s a drug smuggler from Kentucky was flying a stack of cocaine in a small plane when the aircraft got into some kind of trouble. The pilot dumped the cocaine and attempted to eject from the plane, but his parachute failed to open and he died on impact with the ground. The cocaine was eventually tracked to a forest on the Tennessee-Georgia border, where a dead black bear was found next to nine empty packets of coke. The poor thing had overdosed on an enormous amount of drugs. But the body was otherwise in perfect condition so it was taken away and stuffed.

Cocaine Bear then spent time as an exhibit in Georgia, before making his way to Vegas, as all kitsch things tend to do, and then Reno. In 2015 he was sold to a mall in Lexington, KY, which remains his current home. I think Cocaine's message to Meth Bear would be 'lay off the white stuff, friend, no matter how tasty it is!"

If everyone could spare some positive thoughts, my almost stepfather (he never ended up marrying my mum but they were together from when I was in 3rd to 10th grade and they remained close) just underwent surgery for a brain aneurism (and they actually found a 2nd during the surgery). He's hanging in there but has a long recovery ahead.

This has been a terrible year for head and brain stuff. My best friend's fiance had brain cancer and my dad is losing his vision in his right eye. Thankfully everyone seems to have escaped the worst case scenarios.

what is this "sound sleep" thing you speak of?

From work, my shoulders kill me, then I sleep on my arm, wake up arm numb....switch to other side.....rinse and repeat all night.

And although my wife doesn't steal the covers, each morning they are on the floor on her side while my butt gets frostbite since I sleep near the window...
I have taken to keeping an extra blanket on the floor on my side of the bed for emergencies
