Wild proposal: cancel the remainder of the regular season and all 31 teams qualify for the playoffs. Seed by points per game, top seed gets a first round bye.

I like your idea but would do what baseball does and has a play in between wild card teams or alternatively only teams with a mathematical chance get in.
Bottom line it will suck to see the season suspended just as the Jets are streaking but it would be worse to see them unable to control Corona.

Post-game audio:

Blake Wheeler on what stands out from the game, whether it was a tough game to play given the NBA news, were players talking about it between teams, did he see this coming, what's next for him, what would he like to see happen and what is going right for the team right now.

Kyle Connor with his reaction to the NBA news, how does he approach the next few days, his game winner/importance of the win, 201 points in his career after tonight, how distracting it was to play this game, play of Connor Hellebuyck, what's it like being on the cusp of 40 goals, not knowing what tomorrow will bring considering he is having a career year and when they found out.

Coach Maurice: Thoughts on the game. Play of Kyle Connor. The news of coronavirus during the game. What would he like to see happen? Winning four straight. How will he look back on his 1600th NHL game coaching? What does it mean to be in that coaching company?

So where does this Corona Virus thing all end ??

Do we close down Walmart, Home Depot, and all public places ?

Aren't we making a mountain out of a mole hill ?? -- or is this virus that serious. I doubt there's been any deaths in Canada. I think reason has to prevail here. :dunno:

Maybe this will be deemed an insensitive comment ??

For every corona virus death--I'd bet their is 10 people that die in a car accident -- "minimum."

Yes it’s obviously not WW2 but that doesn’t mean we should downplay the significance. When was the last time sports leagues were shutting down for any reason other than labour shortages ?

I believe it was after the Leafs got generational after elite after Norris shoe-ins after Vezina winner after stud after boy genius and everybody in the league knew they couldn't compete.

I would like to see them do no fans for another few days...everybody plays 72 games. Stop season. Reevaluate April 3.

I take it very seriously...

I deal with virus' and immunity in livestock as part of my career...

If you saw my link earlier to a British doctor on YouTube he will very accurately clear up all the BS you see in the media...

It is very serious...

But it is most likely to kill people who are 60 plus... immuno-suppression (eg. diabetic, like me) and other pre-existing conditions...

It can also cause long term lung damage to persons who go full blown even if they recover...

Here is the link again...

Difference... significance...

Are just words...

Difference if it matters is....

75+ million persons died during World War Two...
Jesus Christ.

Nobody, literally 0 people, are even saying it is close to the significance of WW2 but for some reason you are hung up about this lol.

Just because it’s not WW2 doesn’t mean it’s not a crazy time.

One death, person in their 80s who had existing health problems. The number of confirmed cases is over 100 at this point.

It's bad in lots of places. I saw something on Twitter earlier that made sense to me - for a lot of people, it'll be like the flu. For people with compromised immune systems, or older people who can't fight off a virus effectively, it's much worse. Those are your parents, your grandparents. Cancer patients, younger people with existing health problems. Without the containment actions, it's very likely that it spreads very quickly to a lot of people who can't fight it.
