Having a dual threat was always the right call. We were consistently wasting 40-60s of power play time per powerplay with the lines split.

Now the second PK unit of the other teams needs to defend hard too.

Our team has looked goooooooood for the last 4.5 periods.

I know we barely got by Ottawa and we are only up 1-0, but this is the type of hockey I expect from the Leafs.

Up-tempo, controlled possession, with a few bad giveaways but not nearly as many as we gave up most of last year.


Just gotta keep playing like this long-term to finally take the next step as a team.

I think he still looks good. But he’s definitely not playing with guys nearly the same calibre as he used to so the offence isn’t going to come easy

Don't think of it as a demotion, the 3rd line is Hyman's line now. Him being able to do this on the 3rd line is much needed with Matthews-Marner, Tavares-Nylander doing their thing.
