This is a fun read. Teemus's rookie season was magical, glad I was old enough to remember and appreciate it very well (I was 18)

I was 12 when he broke that record. But I find it weird that the Jets are raising his number to the rafters. But that’s just me. I feel like the player should’ve played the majority of his career in that city for that.

Don’t get me wrong, Teemu has history here and a special place in my fandom.

The impact that he had on the city on and off the ice was extremely special so it’s pretty simple decision. We all saw the ovations he got when he returned in 2011. That was absolutely magical. Hedberg and Nielsen only spent 4 years In Winnipeg as well.

If he hadn't been traded Feb '96, he would have played in Winnipeg a whopping extra 2 months before relocation. Either way, the majority of his career was going to be somewhere else. But he made a major impact while he WAS here, and it was for 4 seasons. Long enough!
