What Toronto did there is what poker players would call "turning your hand into a bluff".(*)

They had a HUGE +EV go for it on 3rd and goal, instead, they try and run a bluff, nothing happens, and they well underperform EV.


* - Like let's say you have the second best possible hand at the end, and you bet $10,000 into a $50 pot. Clearly only the best possible hand is going to call you, so you're basically bluffing since you could do that play with absolute garbage, yeah?
