There’s definitely gonna be some fireworks and cheap shots from both sides next week.

People (again, morons) who are saying the suspension is just because all first-time offenders can only get one game are removing all context from the incident. This wasn’t a questionable hit delivered during the game. It wasn’t a dangerous play during the game. At least that lineman on Edmonton a few weeks back could argue the play has just ended. This was a clear attempt to injure a player by head butting someone who has a well-known/well-documented concussion history. The play was over for a good five seconds and I don’t believe an intentional headbutt to a player without the ball is legal even during a play, but I don’t know, they don’t pay me to ref or be responsible for player safety.

The CFL should probably consider re-visiting these rules that make first-time offenders ineligible for anything more than one game.

Truthfully I'm surprised that Robertson got a game with the Riders being the CFL and TSN hype machine. Watching and listening to green gitch wearing Suitor is an embarrassment to colour guys and Neilson becomes a fanboy when he works with him. Actually TSN needs to overhaul their whole presentation with new blood both on the panel and in the booth.

Suitor said that head butt was bad. Neilson gets excited over every big play.

The thing is, it’s objectively a systemic issue with the Riders now. People (here’s that word again — morons) think it’s not fair to paint the Riders with that brush but how many times do they need to have their players do this shit until it becomes an organizational issue? 2021 Banjo Bowl brawl, the Marino shit (multiple incidents), the coach defending the Marino shit (multiple incidents) and now this. That’s a dirty football team in Regina.

It was nice watching Toronto and Hamilton both suck shit today at least. Moving on to the battle of Alberta now which I can’t imagine being any better.

Can’t say I’m surprised but Edmonton and Calgary looked worse.

It’s kind of slim pickings right now behind the commentary booth for the CFL.

I like Marshall (Ferguson, I think?) and Duane Forde and Dunnigan can be entertaining if erratic when he’s given the chance to call. Rod Smith bores me to tears and we know Suitor’s MO

Lapo looked like he was scaring the chick at halftime - I have no complaints this year now that the entire 3rd quarter is not dominated by some random interview instead of covering the game

It’s the Refs fault. They saw the back and forth between Collaros and the Rider defense most of the game. They did nothing to stop it, just kept letting the animosity build and they lost control.

It is something the CFL and CFLPA need to discuss. We love to rag on the CFL head office, but when half of the seemingly lenient 1 game suspensions get appealed and reduced to the max fine, it's really not the CFL not trying, it's the CFLPA. I don't recall a single player receiving more than a 2 game suspension (Simoni Lawrence also on Collaros). In a weird round about way, that hit led to Collaros being a Bomber.

Very reasonable comment. I get the CFLPA is trying to protect its players from egregious punishment, but they should also be trying to protect their players from dangerous plays and injuries, and the pendulum has swung way too far in one direction right now IMO

Zach is the premier QB in the league. The cfl and football in general need the star qbs like Zach because if u look at teams who lose their starter, they are shit. Football is a star qb sport, u got one? U should be good. U don't? U likely won't. Guys like Zach should be protected at all costs in the cfl especially considering the Lack of actual star QBs

since the first 4 games where the Bombers were unbeatable, they have been hot and cold. Zach has to take a lotta of the blame for those IT s he has thrown.....as for the play calling which leaves a lot to be desired.........unless the bombers are playing things close to the vest till they get to the playoffs to show their true colors/cards, it might be a long winter as I do expect that their will be be a few changes as or taking account the age of some of the bombers.

CbushFL, player intentionally heads butts opposing QB after the whistle and is somehow allowed to stay in the game and the CbushFL gives him a joke of a one game suspension!

PA’s accountability is to players money not their health in every sport in every league. Player health is just a bargaining chip. You want NHL players to wear helmets? What are you going to give us? You want players to wear visors? What are you going to give us?
 
Just to recap a few comments from the Rider fan forum...

-The head butt was in response to Collaros trash talking the whole game
- Collaros dove like a Euro soccer player
-Collaros was back from concussion protocol so quickly because he admitted he faked being hurt

Oh, and they hate Suitor because he's always favouring the Bombers.

Not that I don't think he deserved more games, but the CFL is pretty hampered on suspensions - at this point I'm not sure what a player could do to get two games for a first time offense, and if the CFL handed out that suspension, then it would immediately be successfully appealed.

As a die hard CFL fan...

The CFLPA must grow some balls and protect it's marquee players...

Without them salaries will not keep rising...

Nobody's with no identity do not command the "Kwan"...

They don't drive interest in the league... they are bit players easily forgotten...

They don't drive market value up...

Grow some balls CFLPA...

Or get out of the way...
