Well we don't play the Hawks or Blues again this regular season. I was interested in seeing if they have any more success with this new lineup than they did with Murray and Handzus in the lineup. We'd probably still lose in a 7 game series but might not get dominated so badly.

I just want Burish and Handzus to stay in the pressbox.

I don't love Burish but don't get all the hate. He's fine as a 4th liner. That said, I wouldn't put him in at this point. These lines are rolling nicely.

If Clowe does get dealt, then Sheppard should move back to the 3rd line and Burish can go in.

Everyone who is in the lineup right now is better than him, including Desjardins who makes almost a third of his salary.

Burish is paid like a 3rd liner who can barely pass as a 4th liner. He's terrible defensively at even strength and completely useless offensively. He also has the worst hands on the team by far and can't catch a routine pass.

On top of that, I just can't stand how he blatantly dives to draw unwarranted penalties. Embellishment is one thing, but don't try and fake a head injury like some detestable players on other teams.

at ES:
net gain of 6% in d zone starts to o zone finishes
2nd best GA/60 minutes

seems like he's fine at ES defense.

I don't like his contract - I'll give you that but doing fine from what I can tell.

More like:

Roll four effective lines.

Three commanding wins in a row.

Having Pavs run the third is the recipe for success, it's what got the team to the conference finals the last time. And Gomez as a fourth line center is about as good as it gets in the league. At least, if you want to create an offensive fourth line.

If Desi had hands he'd probably be up a goal or two. While having JT-Couture-Pavs-Gomez down the middle is pretty gaudy, I'd still like to see a Clowe-Gomez-Pavs 3rd line just to stack it up a bit more.

Although it's hard to argue with how well Pavs has been doing the past few games.

All I see are his terrible advanced stats. 4th liners are a dime a dozen in this league but we're paying one 1.85 million and have signed him for longer than any other forward on the team.

for the love of god, keep pavs as center. im always shakin my head when they put him on winger, the guy has the brains to make plays and be in the midst of it.

The scoring depth the Sharks are icing right now is great. The Shep-Gomez-Desi line had some good zone time and a few nice chances - I can't think of a more skilled 4th line in the NHL right now. Galliardi looked pretty good on the forecheck as well. I think the coaching staff has decided to ice the best of the team AND has got the lines pretty close to spot on.

The puck movement from the D and the overall transition game/team speed is night and day different from this time last week. I wish Murray the best, but he needed gone.

IMO, Shep has earned that third line spot. He's been getting better and better as time has gone on. If Clowe goes, I wouldn't blink an eye.

If a roster player comes back from a Clowe deal, he might slot in on the fourth. We'll have to see.

great win today. got a lucky bounce, but we capitalized and maintained the competitive play for 60 minutes. that wins hockey games. we were confident, and in control with the puck. the D pairings seem to be working out really well too.

pavs needs to stay at C, i think when he was on wing tmac was putting him in a offensive wing position and defensive center position on a lot of shifts. which can be make a player ineffective at even strength. a pure two way center can just be in the thick of things at both ends.

i wonder if wingels is ready to take that second line winger spot. he looks really effective out there, and if he is then id like to see

galiardi-pavs-sheppard as the third line.

but whatever. ill take the W!

Saw the game from a bar a few blocks from HP. Awesome win by the Sharks. Our depth lines have been impressive the past few games, as well as Niemi.

Huge win by the Sharks. Horrible loss by the Wings.

Just got back from the game. I felt like the Sharks did well but man was that game boring..

Also just back, and agree it felt pretty boring live.

Being on the end Detroit shot twice though, I really noticed our D do a fantastic job of clearing pucks away from Niemi. Nemo did great getting the shutout, but there were a few times he left the puck sitting in front of him and defenders jumped on it and got it out of there. Overall, pretty good effort, and though to complain about back to back shutouts.
