Prospect Info: Wings Prospect Discussion

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Why didn't Misa make it, he has 1 less pt than Martone?

It's always difficult to get into the head of HC decision makers. Al Murray, well-respected, is head scout for the team but there's no shortage of other people who get a voice and every year there are issues over who made the team. Undrafted players are longshots unless special, and Misa is borderline compared to McKenna, Schaefer probably also a better bet. Martone IMO is not guaranteed to make the cut but maybe they thought they needed some size up front more than they needed another skilled C who might not be as adaptable to a different role than he's used to.

Its a 19 year old's tourney. It's surprising they took as many young guys as they did. If you're not a bonafide first overall pick in the upcoming draft you usually don't even get a sniff.

Misa is going to be a stud, and could potentially be a first overall pick. But Mckenna is considered a generational type and likely will be higher ranked than a Bedard (his cousin) come draft time. In a normal year, Misa is probably there but Canadas got A LOT of young talent in the pipe line.

The exceptional status dman in the WHL has some people thinking hell be the most hyped dman in the draft of all time and is the "D" version of McDavid. He didnt sniff an invite to this camp either

Carson Bantle in Toledo is going for the Cy Young this year. He’s 10-0 so far. Great size, hope he has a good year

They're listed on different lines (MBN 1st line, ASP 2nd) and how MBN ended up at RD and ASP in front of the net is a mystery, so whether it's chemistry or just both having good situational instincts, it's all good. Nothing against Skelleftea, but an early elmination that allows both to come to GR with some games left in the AHL season would be ideal. A long playff run and 20ish AHL games might be all they need.

Him and ASP and whoever we get if we bottom out will completely reshape the direction of our franchise. Both of them are so dynamic with their skating, shooting and vision that if they were on the team right now you could forgive lapses in defensive intensity for the excitement they'd bring. ASP is going to be one of the best guys on the PP with how smart he is, and I feel like Buch can be a line-driver down the road in a way we desperately need. Combine that with one of Martone, Hagens, Schaefer or Misa and I think we'd have an entirely different on the Wings.

Max Plante is 1G, 4A in 5 games on a perfectly awful Duluth team. And if you watch the footage of his assists you'll wonder how the eff he can do that. I'm SO bummed he was injured and killed his chance of making the WJC team.

You are not authorized to bad-mouth Max Plante in my presence.

Looks like I'll get hate but Along with mazur plante is another guy I'd use if we have to land a big name player and deal a prospect who's not considered untouchable imo and has some value

Atm for me I'm not even thinking about moving pellikka nygard danielson cossa Augustine buchelnikov lombardi

One of wallinder/buium , mazur, plante depending on the return obviously are guys I'd consider moving. Doubt teams will be knocking at our door for soderblom at this point, hanas,Viro etc..

Our Day 2 drafting is starting to really turn around. Mazur, Ammo, Buch, Finnie, Plante... feels like we're gonna get some serious production out of at least one if not multiple of those guys.

Just need to see if any of our D picks from that range can come up and carve out a role. We're in desperate need for a LD who can hang in the top 4.

Wallinder has been very good since coming back from injury IMO. Still have some hopes for him.
