Mitch had a fairly normal outing of 21:50 last night while Matthews played 69 more seconds, I really don't think anybody got over played except Samsonov who was credited with 60:00 full minutes which really means that the Senator penalty occurred when they had possession and Keefe I guess because we had the lead saw no reason to pull him for the extra attacker.
Seems a bit high to me, all I can say is I hope that what Keefe is doing is in line with what our medical staff considers optimal but ... seems high.

No reason not to strive to achieve both.
Actually, there is very good reason not to strive for both. Hockey is a team game, and therefore team goals are the only ones that matter. Do you job, play well, help the team win and the individual accomplishments will happen naturally but individual numbers like goals, assists and whatever else should never be what players strive for.

Nice to see Timmins draw back in, but please don't tell me after over a month of sitting, in his 1st game back they are going to play him on his offside, at LHD???

At least put Brodie on LHD if the ever-magnificent Hollsy absolutely cannot take a game off and free up some room on RHD......

Honestly, I'm watching the game to see Liljegren and Timmins. Absolutely cannot wait for the regular season to end. Next thing there is to look forward to is finally seeing Knies draw into the lineup before the playoffs.

Definitely dog-days of the season, where the best thing that can happen is a win without injuries, and our future guys looking good.

Said it before and I will say it again, with Jarnkrok delivering, it sure feels like we are watching the Michael Bunting Farewell Tour right now.......

Do right handed defensemen ever practice playing the left side? They're usually outnumbered by the left handed shots and always play their strong side.

Too bad Mitch is out.
He's probably still looking good to hit the century mark in points but with only a handful of games left it'll make it a bit less certain.

Keefe probably resting the guys he is today so they be in better shape once Acciari & O'Reilly get back to better assess what he's got.

On the other hand, I mentioned this on another thread too, both Boston & Tampa will be well rested when we face them this week & next, so things could get pretty tight for home ice.

I'd rest almost all of them against Tampa with 2 games left. Why risk them getting hurt in a get that will surely get physical. Play the other goalie instead of the one you plan to start as well. Dress all our physical guys and play them 18 minutes each. Even if we get caved just run them down all night
100% this. Roll the boys out for warmups and then scratch them all last minute so Tampa can't react either. Run them all night

im pretty sure either matthews and marner would love playoff success more than 100 point regular season points.
Would you rather be a 100 point per season player or a 4th liner who saw little to no ice time on a team that went deep in the playoffs?
