Regardless of the lineup changes ... hopefully they get another W tonight.

They're going to need that home ice advantage. Tampa always shows up in the playoffs.

Hopefully Abruzzese will be noticeable. Murray I'm guessing gets the net tonight.

I was thinking that Marner get some rest so it's good that he is. Gio and McCabe also sitting out is good too. Gio shouldn't be playing back to backs anyways.
Abruzzese has earned a game with his season. He's gone cold like the rest of the Marlies offense too, but looking at the entire year, he deserves a game. Hopefully gets some decent linemates to play with.
Happy seeing Timmins back in. If you believe in him and they do. He's a good future piece so need to play him in games even if just to rest the other guys.

I remember a weird tie up behind the Sens net where Mitch had to un-pretzle himself. He was pissed when he got up, glad he seemed fine. Hope nothing tweaked that drags on.

Ok play nylander with matthews, just for entertainment. Not fan of the Nylander Tavares line.

Looks like 12-6 but not going to be pretty for the bottom 6

Ya, I don't know the best solution, but I am assuming we put millions into people who know what to do, I trust that we are going to try to have our players peak at the right time. If they plan on running Marner/Matthews 22+ a night in the playoffs, maybe they want to start ramping up to that, then give them a few nights of less work right before playoffs, not sure the best way to do it, but I am sure they have the resources to figure it out.
I've been trying to figure this one out myself, it seems obvious that the right idea is to rest your players as much as possible but I think they are trying something new this year.

At the start of this season I was almost certain Gio would getting the most days off but he's played the most games consistently, I think Keefe and staff want them used to heavy usage and keep them warmed up and resting them only if it's really necessary rather than give them as many days off as possible. I would of rested them as much as possible but I'm curious to see how their strategy works out... Maybe the players actually want this and don't like the rest before important games. Who knows?

Is Midol some sort of a mental disorder medicine sire?
Yes but no one would dare tell a woman that.

Have to feel for the home fans who pay top dollar to be robbed of watching Marner.
Should rest the stars on the road.

Happy to see some of the big boys getting some rest. Would like to see all of Matthews, Nylander, Tavares and Rielly miss at least 2 of the remaining games each.

Tonight is the perfect time to start resting guys while last night was the perfect night to continue overplaying them.
Keefe always with the exact right moves.
So a relatively meaningless 3-0 win over Ottawa two weeks before the playoffs is a perfect time overplay your best players?

This is the dumbest post I've read here in some time, nicely done.

I'd rest almost all of them against Tampa with 2 games left. Why risk them getting hurt in a get that will surely get physical. Play the other goalie instead of the one you plan to start as well. Dress all our physical guys and play them 18 minutes each. Even if we get caved just run them down all night

Going to the game tonight . . . was a birthday gift from a friend who doesn't know anything about hockey so can't complain but it's unfortunate to miss Marner and Gio tonight. Would have been my first crack at seeing Gio live, sigh . . . next time!

That being said, with the new blood coming in (and I say blood for a reason!) I think it's guaranteed fight night this evening - so should be entertaining. Lookin' forward to it!

Mitch had a fairly normal outing of 21:50 last night while Matthews played 69 more seconds, I really don't think anybody got over played except Samsonov who was credited with 60:00 full minutes which really means that the Senator penalty occurred when they had possession and Keefe I guess because we had the lead saw no reason to pull him for the extra attacker.
