4-4.5M seems pretty fair for a 40-50 game guy(expectation for Samsonov moving forward)

He has good stats, is young and has some potential left still.

1.5M he got now. So a 3M increase is the top range. Ideally get at 4M which is only 2.5M

I don't see us retaining him for less then 4M
