Lunch was really nice, the dessert that followed was incredible.

I understand that "guys gotta argue", I think it might be part of a hockey fan code or something. It leaves me with little to contribute because (a) I'm the least knowledgeable person here, and (b) I don't care.
Yeah, sounds like dessert was off the premises. Any details on what made it so incredible?

No.

Amazing as it may be to you, girls have needs, too. And this topic is closed to further discussion.

There are clearly two camps that I see existing right now on the forum. The two biggest camps, anyways. There's one that seems to think the overall record is what it is and best describes where the team will be for the playoffs, or what the team's actual performance should be. Then there's the camp that I include myself in that looks at the last, basically, quarter of the season, if not more, where we've struggled mightily and are kind of playing like garbage. The reason I think it's reasonable for the people who are showing concern is because this is not the first time the team has done this. The team has an absolute mental block getting through adversity. Somebody commented a page or two ago that they wish people would be specific about their criticism of why they lost the game. I think I've been pretty consistent in my theory that the team lacks the mental fortitude to deal with things when they don't go their way, and suddenly the sky is falling.
Mental fortitude in dealing with things is about as a general criticism as there is. What does that mean?

I'm just going to stay consistent here on this. Jets have a good system but weak players-both mentally and physically. They are coach killers. I feel sorry for coaches who put in a good system and try to win consistently with boojum and duct tape. They had a fluky start to the season, but this team is doing what they always do - regressing and guaranteed to disappoint if they make the playoffs with an embarrassing and early exit. Have seen enough in the past to know and not be fooled again, LOL.

There is no story. The wife and I were sharing photos on NYD and the grands were laughing that we went to Hogwarts - actually Balloil founded in 1263. We also met there cause of a downpour and we told that story but cleaned it up first, which got Cynic asking for the "real' story, which is like 3 sentences long. So, no real story, nothing to share.

See? Now look what you've done.
You met because of a downpour and there is no story? Sounds like a story.

Do you want me to explain why they can't handle adversity? Is that seriously your question? Or do you not understand what I'm saying to you? Or are you most likely just being combative for the sake of being combative? Help me out here. I'm genuinely wondering what you're getting at. Do you not understand the idea of the team that doesn't handle adversity well? Like you need this better explained to you?

Always love the old photos with the new smartass captions. This one's brilliant.

You bring it up and then say it's off topic? Weird. So easy to avoid bringing it up, if you don't want to talk about it ;)
I don't think she thinks she brought it up. Gals have their minds wired differently. Says the guy married to one for close to 60 years.

The rain came down heavy and me and the first wife, we were stuck without an um rella. Silly us. But you see, with her being a witch and all, she started melting and her screams attracted quite the crowd. As the rain hammered down, earthworms began to crawl out of their earthen abodes... soon there were screams and earthworms everywhere!! Well as you know i have quite the penchant for a tasty worm and really couldnt control myself.. i was scrambling around gobbling tasty worms when wouldnt you know it i knocked heads with my future wife. Worms hanging from our lips our eyes locked... just in time for the wedding ring to drop from my melted ex wifes stumpy hand. And the rest as we say is history

So not much of a story really

Aww cute story. Better than a discussion about Stanley.

I don't think he needs an explanation from you. I think he needs you to recognize that he doesn't agree with you. And that's okay.

Yeah, just my take and I'll get my nose back out now.

There are specifically 3 or 4 posters I was talking about, and I don't consider you one of them

This post is entirely reasonable and there's not much I would disagree with

The one thing I'd maybe say is that we weren't as good as our 16-1 record, but I also don't think that we're as bad as our record over the last 20 games. For that reason, I think that our overall record is about indicative of what we are as a team

If we're gong to make a deep run in the spring, lots of things will have to go right for us. But that's true for every contender. The fun part is that there are maybe 10 fanbases that can even have the hope that it might happen (which still means that 9 fanbases won't see their team lift the cup)
Fair enough and thank you for the clarification.
I agree it is way better to be in this position than the outside looking in. If the Jets are smart they will get helly some serious rest over the next few months and hope they land a couple vets who can give this team a push in the playoffs.

Finally a sane post.

You're the biggest shit disturber on this site :naughty::nod::skeptic::popcorn:
I take that as a compliment but know you are being sarcastic and this site needs all types to make it interesting.

So you don't know then? You're just here to ruffle feathers and then tell people to go get mental help when they react to your trolling? Sweet gig
It was a pretty simple question meant to help you explain your extremely general answer.

You have been unhinged this whole thread. Is this what you do for fun?

50-50 at best to win the cup? Moneypuck currently has us at a 6.2% chance to win the cup and I would say that is generous.
And that's because it's so damn hard to win a Cup , so many things have to all come together plus you need everyone playing well not just one or two players .I think most on here understand that .
