Bowler will have to actually do work..Costanzo's play in the playoffs has at least earned him a look next season. He did everything they asked of him, maybe even more, and I can see him returning for camp. With that said, if George comes at a reasonable cost, such as Windbiel or Newlove + picks, then you have to at least talk to Owen Sound.
I think it will be interesting as a whole.Kennedy will be fine as an OA if he choses to stay. He was solid on the back end for the Spits.
Why would Owen Sound need a goalie? We have 2 that probably will be drafted this year in the NHL Draft?Costanzo's play in the playoffs has at least earned him a look next season. Damn where did the George talk come from?!?? Yes we have a good number of pretty good D men, but very few with size. We need some big bodies back there, injuries killed us this year.

I think Windsor has seen the last of Protas. One year in the league he finishes in the top 3 in scoring, lights it up in the playoffs and plays a game that is ahead to the rest. I think the Caps will conclude he needs stiffer competition and bigger boys to play against to advance his development. I am not 100 % certain but the only way they may send him back to Junior hockey would be if they could hold an extra year of his entry level contract, meaning his full 3 year contract wont start until he plays either in Hershey or Washington.Idk if getting George would be a good idea I think Costanzo proved he can stay. But idk I thought the same thing after Onuska played his heart out during the 2021 run and he was only okay the next season. We'll see what happens after the NHL Draft and Import Draft I guess. I'm curious what the lines will be like next season. My way-too-early projected lineup looks something like this:
Greentree - Protas - Spellacy
Belchetz - Nesbitt - Davis
Lemieux - McNamara - Garden
Import Pick - Costello - Gaymes
Extras - McLaughlin, Inskip, Brocklehurst
Woodall - Cristoforo
Hicks - Kennedy
Robinson - Walton
Extras - Spicer, Debruyn?
Costanzo - Newlove/Windbiel
***Assuming Protas & Spellacy are back:
***Froggett, Winegard, Walton, Eichler, Outwater all traded or released
but yeah just my opinion

Yeah thats fair. Honestly looking at the lineup I would prefer someone else to Gaymes and Costello but I'm assuming Bowler is sticking to his guys and does minimal trades in the offseason. Bowler likes his 3rd/4th line enforcer guys who don't get points but bring the body but yeah in his shoes I would do a few different things lolAssuming the **** stuff at the end, Brocklehurst, McLaughlin, and Inskip will all find a place in the lineup on a regular basis. I'd imagine Gaymes is gone, McNamara is 50/50 based on my hearings, and Costello could be in the same boat. Regarding D, Spicer becomes the 7th D and you might have a few guys get signed for callups as the season goes along.
It is crowded for sure but how this plays out will depend on whether or not they consider it a go year? Kennedy is their best defensive D but he might have to give way to the kids if they don't see it as a go year. He would be a valuable trade chip.I think it will be interesting as a whole.
Cristoforo
Walton
Woodall
Hicks
Robinson
Kennedy
Spicer
All potential returnees. Hicks and Robinson are draft eligible they played well in the playoffs. Their ceilings are much higher than Kennedy. Is Kennedy better than the first 3 mentioned? They should utilize both import picks and take big swings and one should be on D. Do I think Kennedy is back? Yes because Bowler spent a 2nd,3rd,4th on him. He probably wants to justify the price. I just don't want guys like Robinson or Hicks being the 6th D. If they landed a big D via import not sure you need to keep Kennedy.
It was not my proposal, so Im not sure why ‘such as’ is needed."Such as..." I don't know who OS would want in return. Let's put it this way - someone younger with serious potential plus picks.
If I were Owen Sound, I would not move George to Windsor for anything less. than Windbiel. If I were Windsor, I wouldn't trade Windbiel for a 1 year rental. Especially if Protas is not back."Such as..." I don't know who OS would want in return. Let's put it this way - someone younger with serious potential plus picks.
You will probably get your wish with Spicer and Moskowitz making the team on the backend to go with Hicks,Christoforo, Woodall, Walton, Kennedy and Robinson,Moskowitz is 18,6'5"-225,while Spicer is now 6'4"-205 and is 17 years of age.Damn where did the George talk come from?!?? of your signing 2u18 picks and expecting them to be regulars your in troubleI would not be surprised if Windsor winds up signing 5 or 6 of this year's draft players regular draft plus 1 or both from the U18 Draft.
Hopefully Mclaughlin, Inskip,Bergeron, Harvey who is 17 btw,all forwards plus dmen Jesse Drebryn and Luke St John.
Now I know Bergeron the 3rd round pick has tendered with Muskegon but I know who his agent is and I could see things change here and this would be a huge thing if things change in Windsor's way.
As well I could see both guys taken from the U18 Draft signed too especially the dman Moskiwitz that I mentioned earlier.
Hopefully a couple guys from the Euro draft show and things will be interesting.
Future is bright in my view.

I'd consider dealing Newlove due to his age and keep Windbiel with Joey/George or both grooming him. Now are you allowed to have 2 OA goalies on 1 team with the exemption lol. ?Costanzo's play in the playoffs has at least earned him a look next season. Didn't need a scouts feedback to see that. Chances were slim from mid season he'd be back. But I agree with ya.As much as I would love to have Protas back next year,I see him going to the American league at the worst or making Washington at best joining his brother according to numerous scouts that have spoken to during the season.
Don't disagree but hoping that changes. Went a few years goaltending coaches coaches were a revolving door and periods with no dedicated G-coach.Windsor rarely grooms a goalie
