Windsor Spitfires 2024 - 25 Season Thread, Part V

I’m going to start complaining now. Kitchener didn’t like the refs Monday… and well I don’t like em tonight. If Joe Monette has any say in this one, we’ll all be at the WFCU Friday.

Monette has a vibe to him that feels very much like “The Spitfires went to my high school and stole my girlfriend. I’m actually better than them at hockey too, if I didn’t have that one injury, I would’ve been on the team. Now it’s 15 years later and I’m not over it.”
Can never call that guy a “Homer” for being from Windsor. We’re In for a frustrating one tonight.
More money in owners pockets..

Well, they drafted D/F Charlie Moskowitz just now... 6'5 230+. Wonder how fast he can sign? LOL! (yes, I'm kidding)
Yes and No. 2007 Born, huge player (Belchetz Size), right handed shot, with some ability to play Defense or Forward.

I don’t feel like it’s allowed but… could he be used now as an affiliate player? Adding some size as a 12th Forward or 7th/8th D, wouldn’t hurt. Obviously not tonight but…

Sure, I’m not saying he’s going to replace anyone missing, but you can’t teach size.

I doubt it's allowed but, with that said, I've never seen a rule against it. Someone who knows more could likely detail it.

As for the three Imports - it gives Bowler some options, if nothing else.

Game 5 on Friday at home. It's been a pretty brutal day here so I'm not overly frustrated about them having a chance to win it at home. None of us predicted a Windsor sweep, right?
No. Originally thought 6 or 7 games if Parsons was stellar. He was good tonight. Need to win game 5 though or momentum goes all Rangers and young team may have doubts. Go Spits make it good Friday for a secondary reason.

I was expecting a defeat in this one. Losing this game is no big deal, hard to sweep a team on the road. The big deal is the growing injury list. Basically played that game tonight with two lines.

Kitchener is catching a major break with the Spitfires' depleted roster. If we had anything near a healthy roster, I would say there is a 0% chance they come back, but with the injuries, it gets more interesting.

No it's not an excuse, but when you missing 2 of top four 4-man and 3 of the top 6 forwards, it's a huge disadvantage.

Need to get some of these injured players back ASAP. No need to panic though, very rare the 1st line is that quiet and they only gave up two goals, not counting the empty net. Kitchener has only scored 8 goals in this series. Still in good shape, even with the depleted roster.

Have you heard anything on Spellacy and Davis?
