Windsor Spitfires 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iv

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Poor decision by Woodall and everyone knows it. However, he wouldn't have likely dressed tonight anyway. Glad to see he's back for the playoffs. Now, let's hope for the best for Belchetz.
Will c if he learned a lesson.
Not a long time sitting..

Interesting Windsor with 8 skaters out 5F,3D,they are missing a total of 152 goals,130 by forwards,22 D,192A forwards,100D for of a total of 444 points
London with 6 forwards not dressed have amassed 25G,25A 50 points, and 2 D,Spencer and Fagan 2G5A-7 points, toss in the fact is starting their 3rd goalie seems like an exhibition game to me
Meant to add Windsor is starting their 3rd goalie,London is going with #1 Elliot who has lost 1 game all year,to Windsor btw.

This is one of those games where Windsor could lose 7-1 and I won't really care. There's zero to gain from it, standings-wise, and the playoffs are a week away. Get through the 60 minutes with no injuries and no suspensions, and get home to get ready.

Windsor has had nothing to play for in weeks.
Couldn't move up or down standings..

The plays are similar, but they aren't at the same time.

Greentree hits Dickinson in the back & is far closer to the boards. I don't think he deserved a SSPD but I think most would agree his cross check is at a more dangerous area and into the back.

Hurt hits Belchetz in the hip pretty much at the faceoff dot.

As Walters said post game it was really unfortunate for Ethan & 0 intention from Hurt.
Right the Belchetz hit happened 15+ feet from the boards. Greentree much closer to the boards. Awful Belchetz got injured but this is also why you can't make a suspension based on injury.

It is not much different than the Greentree hit. I get that the punishment should not be based on the results or injury but I look for consistency in the call itself and the subsequent suspensions. I'm not seeing that in this case. 2 totally opposite results in discipline for virtually the same hit. That's what has me a little peaved at!
I agree 100%. I don’t mind with different officiating crews that it’s called slightly different.

The issue is when it goes to league review, for nearly the same thing, in the same week, and called differently

I'm not sure i would sit Protas. Still a chance for the scoring title. When you are on a roll I don't like rests. Just my 2 cents
If it was vs anyone but London I’d play him. He doesn’t put himself in bad areas. But unfortunately I don’t trust a clean game tonight.

Saginaw is also playing for nothing, I bet Misa rests vs Flint.

Tonight could be brutal. Only reason to want a win, is to win the regular season series and a game in London

If a player is nursing a mild injury then yes. Rest him. If not, momentum is everything. Playing soft going into the playoffs going against a team that has been giving it all to get in the show is not what this team needs to face round 1 it will be closer than anticipated especially if we get average goaltending

Let's say they play Cristoforo, Protas, and Costanzo tonight. Something happens to any of them and the player is out for at least one series, or even the entire playoffs. Then what? In a completely meaningless game, you just lost someone for no reason at all. You want to send London a message? You already did, at home, a few days ago. Roster v. roster, you can skate with them. That's all Windsor needed. I'd rather see anyone who can sit tonight, sit, and get the team as healthy as possible for Thursday when games actually matter.
