Windsor Spitfires 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iv

Was Mathurin a separated shoulder? I feel I heard/read that. Any time table to return?

What’s up with Lemieux?

I’d rather play Soo than Owen Sound. Sure there’s more travel, but there’s also no Carter George in the Soo.

Sarnia’s my preferred first choice, but as stated a W tonight, nearly eliminates that possibility.

I heard best case scenario late 2nd round early 3rd round. Worse case he needs surgery.

Well that’s 5, a game and a two game suspension. Arm extension push from inside the faceoff circle.

Damn, tough guy to see go down. Hope Belchetz is alright.

Hurt had way more oomph on Belchetz than Greentree had on Dickinson…

Woodall was frustrated that there was no tripping call on Wainwright. Took matters into his own hands. That's what happens when the refs don't make the calls. I'm going for a drink now!
Yup, frustrating. Nearly an identical Cross check that we just got 5 minutes and 2 games for, called as a 2 minute minor, Get tripped into our own net with no call, rightfully frustrated.

Dumb move at the current point of the season, but rightfully frustrated with the officiating

Protas either needs to get 1 more point or not play tomorrow to become the 4th player in Spits history to average 2 points per game in a full season since Bowler in 94-95 season (did it twice) and will be 7th all time for Spitfires with Spezza having 86 pts in 41 games in 00-01 season and Cirone had 50 pts in 23 games in 90-91 season. Pretty impressive with him being 18 yr import player in his first year. He is going to be a good one.

I get that but you don’t jump into the guys head. And then refuse to answer the bell after executing such a dirty hit.
Right. When you consider Mathurin injured. Belchetz hurt and most likely not playing any time soon. Take a # and take care of it next year. I told my buddy I bet a Spitfire will get suspended during the playoffs. Happened in the regular season but will most likely miss playoff games. That's a win in my books but a loss for the Spits.

Joey with a nice game. Thinking Woodall gets at least 5 games with intent to injure.
I don’t think it’s that bad. Honestly, I view it as less dangerous using the body than swinging a wild stick. Was a dumb play regardless, but if he just jumped the guy and started swinging he’s probably getting 5. He made the.. “hit”..? And then backed off.

Wasn’t expecting that much entertainment with 2nd locked in.

Belchetz injured. Woodall suspended. Joey with his 4th shutout (giving him 2nd in the league behind Parsons, also 2nd in Wins behind parsons). Protas with a 5 point night, putting him just 2 behind Misa.

Good games from Davis, Spellacy and Nesbitt in addition to the multi/point guys.

Consistently impressed by Hicks and Walton. Kind of a next man up thing on the back end

Kennedy/Christoforo
Walton/Hicks
Eichler/Robinson
Not the worst.

Grreetree was suspended, Hurt should also be suspended. This hit actually resulted in a serious injury to the #1 pick. If the league doesn't suspend him, it's a complete joke.

Not sure what the heck Woodall was thinking, but if the ref called the obvious trip 5 seconds before , then it doesn't even happen. Woodall is not a dirty player at all, so surprised to see the hit. He has no suspension history so probably will get 2 games, miss game 1.

These guys need to play smart tomorrow, no more hit or plays that will result in suspension, not that hard to stay from that that stuff, geez.

Protas is just insane, he has eyes at the back of his head, sets guys up with open nets when he is glancing in a completely different direction. This dude knows where everyone on the ice is at all times. I would say Protas is the most dominating player in the league. Misa is obviously elite, but I feel Protas is the better playmaker and is solid defensively. If he had played the entire 68 games he would have hit 140 points.

I would rest Cristoforo, Kennedy (Can't afford another d-man to go down with two already out), along with Morneau and Protas, better not see Protas playing tomorrow.
