If Bowler is getting McNamara it could be a sign he is playing it safe this season. The prices get more and more absurd every year. They have the division won already so he might be conservative.

If the Spellacy rumours are true (not saying they are, I have no clue), then he could probably make something work to get one of the expensive d -man in a trade. Seems quiet out there. If a player is only willing to waive his NTC for Windsor, the price could drop.
Rumours of what? He wants out?

From what i have heard, McNamara is bit more physical. 6'3 grinder that likes to hit will be a great addition, we already have the guns to put the puck in the net , so a grinder that can play a physical game will be an asset especially in a series. Plus the price was right...nice move BB

Won't be any USHL fliers this year. Players can't hide behind that with the new NCAA rules. Kids will more likely get drafted where they fit in the draft.
Sure there will be you can't sign every top player in that year. I mean the best example would be the Spits selection of Robinson. He's committed for 27-28 but still isn't signing at this point. Even if it is getting drafted where they fit why would you give up a 5th who has burned bridges for two teams (based on prior comments)?

Well Bowler did mention in the Star that the team chemistry is great right now but this move has bad vibes written all over it from past history on other teams so on ice is not always everything.

Pushed out of his Midget JRC team, moved out of Saggy as a vet in a Mem Cup host year, and now moved out as a vet on Kingston team that wishes to contend in the East. Doesn’t have a good reputation amongst players. I’m more concerned with the impact within the room than fitting on the 3rd or 4th line.

Nothing to do now but hope for the best. BB may not have done his homework
My thing is with the cost of it, if he’s a pain, just release him/send him home.

It’s not like we paid a fortune for a guy we expect to put up a point per game and we have to deal with his attitude. I’m not in the room, but I do think having a good room can make or break a team. He’s getting 4th maybe 3rd line minutes here until he earns more. He’s bounced around, and if he doesn’t fit here, his OHL career is probably over. If we lose a 5th, we lose a 5th. Worth a gamble. It’s a Niagara 5th as well, so it’s going to be a 90-100 pick in the draft. Meh. Not a big risk.

Seems odd to “replace” outwater, when outwater didn’t really produce much. The thing going for him is size. We’re going to try and wear down opponents in the playoffs

From casual Kingston fan comments, seems he was liked and hustles hard. I saw him a good little amount with Saginaw, and always just kinda went, “meh? He’s a first round pick?”

Cant say I’ve watched or noticed him since he was moved to the east

Well my comments was about you posting that they will lose out with a " flyer" pick by giving up the 5th. Now you switched to a bad team presence. You complain about others moving the goal posts lol. And yes that is a concern.

I am not complaining I am pointing out what others have said not moving goal posts either. He's going to play 3rd or 4th line. If he doesn't produce you probably won't see him as an OA. He has 30 games to show he can stick around. Moving a 5th round pick is just losing a lottery ticket.

I doubt this acquisition moves the needle either way to be honest.

If he turns out to be a problem, release him and fill in from LaSalle. Maybe in the right situation he is comfortable.

There is not point to signing Robinson at this point. We already have 4 08s on the roster. Hopefully he will sign for next year,

Agree re Robinson though he can play up to 10 games and not asa card.
I can see Windsor signing, him, Grady Spicer and Drake Gram all D by next year, all 3 have committed to US schools Spicer the latest one a week ago.
Would be interesting if one of the D signed too,Sam Wathier a US born playing with USDP ,could get crowded on the D next year, I really like Robinson and Spicer, and Gram played with Garden with Little Caesars.

What about Easton Pace?
Could see him signing next year too.,would be open to signing him now
