Beltchz might get a suspension but I guess on the bright side he can rest his hand.Well, I didn't expect a 4-0 win but I'll take it.
Now, let's hope Belchetz isn't out for a few games because of the head check.
Only if u r guilty of somethingDon't blink wrong, you'll get 2 or 10.
Well that’s an understatement. We had two periods of them letting everything go and then started calling the most ridiculous stuff in the third. I still don’t think Belchetz made direct head contact. Calling Christoforo for unsportsmanlike at the start of a 5 minute major for talking? (I’d imagine if it was that bad, he’d be getting a couple games) Nesbitt has the puck pinned and Carlisle comes in for nothing but a cross check high, and Nesbitt leaves with the instigator, and Winegards solo man roughing for… screening the goalie on the powerplay? Then Cloutier who’s been a bit chippy all game (whatever that’s hockey) gives Lemieux a healthy cross check, and they yank Lemeiux for diving?Burchell as a ref tonight. Put on your seatbelts, should be quite the ride!
Gets a little break. Heal upThat's likely 3 games unfortunately. Maybe only 2 for being first offense
Nice to get the 1st of 2 in the win column, expecting Belchetz to sit tomorrow, so Gaymes should be installed into the lineup replacing him,I would keep Winegard in the lineup as well as u suggested.Well that’s an understatement. Spits look dominant. Killed 7 minutes straight, with the front 2 of it being 5-on-3. Joey had to make some nerve wracking saves at the end, but almost cost us two trying to play the puck, so that makes up for it. Doubled their shots, in their barn, and shut em out 4-0.
Easy to go back to Joey tomorrow, but I say let’s see what Newlove’s got. Soo will come out angry, but a couple quicks could get that game sloppy quick. I say keep in Winegard tomorrow and find a way to squeeze in Gaymes as well, Soo can’t handle the size and strength we have.
Christoforo got a penalty for firing a shot at the goaltender after being called offside. That's what I thought watching it live anyways.Well that’s an understatement. Agree, classic Abraham antics, surprised on everything they only took one on that one.Christoforo got a penalty for firing a shot at the goaltender after being called offside. That's what I thought watching it live anyways.
I agree that Burchell was awful. Abraham almost tore Solomon's arm off before the latter broke free and somehow got a penalty for it. Then the same thing happens again a few minutes later and there was no call. I couldn't believe the incompetence on that one.
Give an Oscar to Hicks on that "high stick" call as well.
That's not to say there weren't bad calls the other way either, but those ones stood out. Burchell is always an embarrassment.
The Hounds were extremely short handed and couldn't even dress a full roster, so I wouldn't read too much into the 'dominance'. I like your team a lot and they play a great game, though.
He would be a strong candidate for most improved player if the league had that kind of award.Interesting Spits goaltender Joey Costanzo recorded his 3rd shutout of the season for Windsor tonight vs the Hounds, now 2nd in league in that category Parsons for Kitchener has 4.
Should be noted before this season Costanzo had 1 career shutout to his credit and it wasn't last year,it was his 1st year here,so 1st 3 years in the league 1 shutout, this year 3 and half the season just completed impressive imo.

watch the clip again, you can see burchill, 30 feet away, along the boards on the goal line, with his eyes directly on this play watch it unfold and not call a damn thing until the puck makes its way to the Windsor line. There Never was a hand up, just a stoppage for injury, then review.Honestly feel this one was slightly worse than Martin's a few weeks ago. Player more vulnerable position and Belchetz size differential placed contact to where the head seemed targeted in appearance even if his head was not the initial contact point the follow through was which gave it the clothesline appearance. Maybe the over the crease in house arena camera shows a better view. If not, the league will need to rely heavy on the call on the ice by the officials from their opinion which was a major. Not looking good. The league can suspended 5 games for a head check but expecting 2-3 based on first offense
Someone still wants 44 out…Remember not too long ago everyone wanted to cast away Costanzo and Cristoforo for hockey pucks?
I can't really comment on the head check because there's no angle that shows whether he made contact or not, but Burchell did the same thing a couple of other times.watch the clip again, you can see burchill, 30 feet away, along the boards on the goal line, with his eyes directly on this play watch it unfold and not call a damn thing until the puck makes its way to the Windsor line. Sure it’ll probably result in a suspension, but the call on the ice was nothing. The call after the play was 5 and a game.
How do you skate horizontally halfway across the rink and not see a 6’4” Belchetz coming at you… the whole way.
I get protecting players, and I get head injuries are serious, I really do. But man, how you going to get rewarded for putting your head down. It’s the same trash as being along the boards and turning your numbers to the guy, to get completely sandwiched to try and draw a boarding call.
When you have guys on the receiving end of hits, putting themselves in a more dangerous position trying to draw penalties, how guilty are the guys on the giving end?
Let’s start to give guys hit with their head down, two for “Failure to be aware of their surroundings” and I bet half these “5 and a Game” calls disappear.
Belchetz is listed on OHL’s “Suspensions” list with a “Pending Review”
