There is a difference between an ultra-talented player and a great player. HuGo knew the difference, most fans do not.
You’re referring to a prospect.
If you, Hughes, or my grandmother knew how prospects would turn out, the world would be a different place.
Too many fans only care about what a player has done lately. We are lucky that people that are this impulse don't have the power to make any decision as they would have no long term vision.
Yeah, I wouldn’t use Michkov’s expected and typical mid-season slowdown as any indication of how the rest of his career will flow. Calling him a future great or not-great based off a spate of form in his rookie season is asinine.
We saw Slafkvosky suffer an ignominious rookie season, and a somehow still bad first-half of a sophomore season, before he turned on the afterburners and looked alive and torched the league in the latter half of last season.
I’ve learned that it’s good to keep an even keel and remember talent doesn’t go away. I’m sure Philly fans know what they have with Michkov and want to see him get there.
