You're not gonna dominate every period of every game. They outshot Erie by a wide margin by the end of the night. Erie is a good team.

Good to see Spellacy heating up in time for his WJ camp. Protas could be the most important player on this squad. Elite vision and is always setting up Greentree. Protas is just one of those rare players that has the ability to slow the game down. He now has 20 points in his past 8 games.

Another game where the Spits hold a solid opponent to 25 or fewer shots. Manzo keeps getting more ice and is solid back there. I could see other GMs asking about him in trade discussions.

Update on Outwater from Walters post-game - currently day-to-day, upper body, not much specifically is known, out v. London tomorrow.

The hit happened close to me. The way he reacted was "ugh, not again." It didn't have the true shoulder "slump", if you will, that we saw last season in Erie (which I was in attendance for), but he still made a b-line for that locker room. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Man, that kid needs some good luck.

Some thoughts...

- Another slow start but it felt like Erie was playing a solid road period, too. It's a little bit of "ugh" mixed with some "props to them."
- The first goal looked like a miscommunication between Cristoforo and Mathurin. Fimis blew past them and... yep.
- The first Spellacy goal was a thing of beauty. A nice long bomb from Cristoforo, speed gets the puck, and it's a much-needed tie game.
- The second Spellacy goal was nice, too. Cristoforo pinches, gets the puck to Morneau behind the net, who gets to Spellacy out front. I know people like to complain about Cristo pinching but... sometimes, credit where due.
- How often do you have an EN goal before the final goal past an actual goalie? props to Lemieux!
- Another 10 players with a point, including Manzo and Garden, who went about that quietly.
- Hopefully Outwater is okay. The last thing he needs is another injury, esp on what's already been hurt/worked on.

Take the two points and head into a very tough home-and-home starting on Friday!

Windsor needs to play alot better.
10 minutes of actual decent hockey won't get it done most nites.
Coach needs them ready to go.
Perhaps a trade to shock their systems.

Not the prittiest of victories especially with their best player away but with a solid 3rd period we were able to pull out the 2 points off. Credit to Joey, he kept us in it thru the first part of this game until this lineup could find a way to bury some chances, very underated goalie over there in Erie with their swedish netminder Erliden, happy the team was able to solve him.

Onto the first of back to back games against the big bad Knights. With some of their key players away, im hopeful for a win. Doesnt matter what roster the Hunters have on the ice, that team is going to be prepared for battle in one way or another and hope Walters gets the boys fired up, lets get greedy and pull out back to back wins. Expecting to be some heated moments the next two games, even with players being out.

Geuss will see the Plan, but after Froggetts performance versus the Rangers i'd throw him into the fire tonight and hope this team plays a good game in front of him. We just need a better start then yestaurday and a complete effort to pull the Win out of London.

Lets get er done!!
Go Spitfires!!!

Froggett tonight, Joey tomorrow, glad to see the 2 points vs Erie. Seemed off early, per usual which is frustrating, but it worked out.

Spellacy’s speed is insane. Joey saved them in that one. A lot of key chances for the otters early that Joey shut the door on. We forget the first shot of the game happened and he’s got a shutout. 24 consecutive saves to end the game.

Looking at this back to back last week, I was thinking a good goal would be to shut down Cowans streak Friday, kill the win streak Saturday. Cowans got WJ/injured and Oshawa took the streak away.

I still want 3 points (extras are nice) this weekend, the Erie win was needed. I don’t expect a win in London, even with players out, but if we pick up a W today, I think it carries momentum huge into tomorrow

Joey said during the interview last night that Froggett was starting today to get the home town start and as well Hicks will be in for the same reason. Good to see they have enough leeway they can afford to make some player oriented moves. Also with Hicks family billeting last year he will be familiar with most of the Knights players. Becomes a game within a game I'm sure lol .

As usual this game will prove to be entertaining and hopefully no Hedon (sp) rating after. Be safe.

Spits with the win last night are now 7--1-1-1 in their last 10 games,5-0-0-1 at home and 2 -1-1 on the road.
Through this stretch Spits have scored 41 goals,4.10 average for and 26 goals against for an average of 2.60.
Spits now are 4th in the league on the PP and 3rd in the league on the PK.
For comparison 1st 10 games Spits went 8-1-1-0,even though 7 of them were on the road and they went 5--1-1 while going 3-0.
After the 1st 10 they were 1st tied on the PP and 8th on the PK.
They did score 54 goals for a 5.40 for average and 27 against including 2 empty netters for a 2.50 average against.
In the middle 10 games,11-20 Spits went 6-4,scored 34,allowed 29 with the goalie in for averages of 3.40 and 2.90.
The PP and PK after 20 games were 3rd and 4th respectively.
Definitely improved the last 10 games despite some slow starts no complaints here.

Wasn't really paying attention but just looking at the schedule now the Spits play the B to B with London and then home to Guelph on Thursday and then off for the Christmas break . How quickly the season rolls by.

Imho this sloppy play eventually bites back. Wins are great but they can mask issues… these next 2 games could be a real awakening or ????
I hope london comes out looking to shit disturb!! That usually gets the spits into the game quicker lol.

I agree with some of this. Knights will be missing a few top tier guys. It might be best served not to take to bait.

Windsor should have the edge on paper at least

Froggett hurt. Knee.
Windsor will need another backup that doesn't play often.
Was playing good too.

Ugh. Froggett crouched down in the crease, slips backwards, looks to twist a knee or leg. Immediately goes down. Trainer out and he tries to play through it but... nope. Back down to the ice. Teammates help him off. Costanzo back in. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Costanzo will play most of the games anyway.

Newlove is playing tonight for Georgetown while Windbiel who plays for LaSalle Vipers have the night off,I am guessing Windbiel gets the nod, even though La Salle plays tomorrow night ironically at London vs the Nationals.

Per AM800, Beller is talking to Outwater. It's his shoulder and there's no timeline for a return. Getting an MRI this weekend, should know more once they see what's happening. Then will talk to Spits' staff about what happens for the rest of the season.

Man, I feel for the kid. He can't get some good luck.

It happens.
Windsor should look elsewhere
