You're not gonna dominate every period of every game. They outshot Erie by a wide margin by the end of the night. Erie is a good team.

Good to see Spellacy heating up in time for his WJ camp. Protas could be the most important player on this squad. Elite vision and is always setting up Greentree. Protas is just one of those rare players that has the ability to slow the game down. He now has 20 points in his past 8 games.

Another game where the Spits hold a solid opponent to 25 or fewer shots. Manzo keeps getting more ice and is solid back there. I could see other GMs asking about him in trade discussions.

Update on Outwater from Walters post-game - currently day-to-day, upper body, not much specifically is known, out v. London tomorrow.

The hit happened close to me. The way he reacted was "ugh, not again." It didn't have the true shoulder "slump", if you will, that we saw last season in Erie (which I was in attendance for), but he still made a b-line for that locker room. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Man, that kid needs some good luck.

Some thoughts...

- Another slow start but it felt like Erie was playing a solid road period, too. It's a little bit of "ugh" mixed with some "props to them."
- The first goal looked like a miscommunication between Cristoforo and Mathurin. Fimis blew past them and... yep.
- The first Spellacy goal was a thing of beauty. A nice long bomb from Cristoforo, speed gets the puck, and it's a much-needed tie game.
- The second Spellacy goal was nice, too. Cristoforo pinches, gets the puck to Morneau behind the net, who gets to Spellacy out front. I know people like to complain about Cristo pinching but... sometimes, credit where due.
- How often do you have an EN goal before the final goal past an actual goalie? props to Lemieux!
- Another 10 players with a point, including Manzo and Garden, who went about that quietly.
- Hopefully Outwater is okay. The last thing he needs is another injury, esp on what's already been hurt/worked on.

Take the two points and head into a very tough home-and-home starting on Friday!
