5-3 Erie, incl four unanswered... erm, 6-3, five unanswered.

This one is two fold - a very good lesson for Windsor that every team is going to give you their best right now. Also, that reviewed goaltender interference goal that counted was kind of the turning point. If that doesn't happen...
How come when Windsor doesn't win it's always 1 of usual statements?
The call was very close. Eichler didn't help things..

Eichler barely touched him and the Erie player made no attempt to stop or change direction, instead continued through the Blue paint contacting Froggett on the far side of the crease. Seriously that is interference. The call was bad. If that was the other way around I would say the same thing.

Refs are what they always are. This only comes up when on losing end.
They aren't going to improve.
Windsor got some calls this year. Will get some against them.
Can't do anything about the refs, though.
Windsor can move on and focus on next game.

Agree you can't do anything about them but you have heard me say Windsor was lucky when they get a bad call go their way. They do balance out as you suggest over the season

Can't be disappointed in the squad's performance. Another road game with the backup in net and posted 42 shots on net. Definitely didn't get the benefit of the calls tonight. That 3rd Erie goal was goalie interference, he slid right into the goalie taking him out of the play, if that is not goalie interference, what is?

Greentree is obviously a great player, not criticizing him, but sometimes he is guilty of trying to always deke through everyone when he has teammates wide open in prime scoring spots. Many times, he ends up losing it. It was noticeable on quite a few occasions in this one.

Anyways, you can't win every game. The daunting schedule continues against a desperate Oshawa squad that is somehow losing games. They have a stacked roster. After these next few games, the schedule gets better.

Now that I've got a bit of time...

A loss like this is going to happen. I don't want to say "they needed it", but allowing three unanswered (five if you count the EN), in controversial fashion, shows them that stuff happens and you can't let up on the gas. It's a good lesson and one they can take into Monday and beyond. Erie's one of the toughest buildings they'll play in; every game is a battle and good luck getting two points, regardless of where the teams are in the standings.

Goals against - First goal was a missed clear by Walton, right to the Otter, who skates in uncontested and beats Froggett. SOMEONE had to get him. Second goal was a puck bounding off Walton's skate as he had his guy, but it went to his guy, who buried it close range. Third goal was the collision with Froggett. Fourth goal was Walton going for the hit on the puck carrier but the puck got behind him to two Otters and Woodall. Shot, rebound, it's in. Then, you've got two EN goals.

I thought Froggett deserved a better fate. I don't know any of the goals were his fault; his defence let him down in various ways, then the two EN goals. He made some monster saves when he had the chance and should have gotten the win.

I want to see Belchetz on the top two lines. He was there in the first three games and had 15 shots on goal. Since then, he's moved down a bit and has just seven shots in his last four games (3, 0, 2, 2). He has all the talent to play with guys like Greentree, Nesbitt, and Protas, so give him time on there to show what he can do.

Get back at it on Monday against a tough, but somehow struggling Oshawa Generals team.

I sit on that far side of the crease right in front of the net. One of your players was on top of your goalie who was on his back. Our near side player missed a partially open net. We poked at the puck since there was no whistle and it went through his pads and slowly crossed the goal line. Once it went in Spence was cross checked from behind and onto your two players in the crease.

It’s almost like the same thing that happened to your first goal of the game. Our guy tripped on our goalie. It happens, but this is why I believe they didn’t see interference. The goal had crossed the line prior to us having contact with the goaltender. These goals are the worst and the hardest to swallow. It probably didn’t help that the refs literally reviewed everything last night, missed calls, goals, offsides etc…

Appreciate the different perspective. The replay on TV and what the refs have access to are 2 different things. I got to credit the Otters for coming out and whooping our buts in the 3rd.

Our TV feed isn’t great which could be why it looked as interference. We apparently are stuck in the 90’s in terms of quality.

The Spits looked good in the first. They shut down any opportunities for us to even get past the neutral zone. We had like 3-4 shots on goal with 5 mins left in the first. Had we not had some commotion at the end of the first, it would’ve been a different game.

Agreed on Greentree. I think he’s taking some time adjusting to being in a Spitfires uniform and realizing that unlike last year… now he has help.

Late with my comments re last night's result,Windsor's 1st regulation loss of the season, not pleased with the goal call tying the game replay in my view showed unintentional interference and the appeal should have been allowed.
Spits weren't the same after and let the game slip away.
Unlike coming back after down 2 at Brampton the night before couldn't hold on to the lead, things happen, thought Froggett was a bit rusty maybe not playing in 15 days was possible, who really knows
43 shots on goal by Windsor despite only 2PP was good, their goalie was forced to make some big stops,Potras very impressive for Windsor.
Spits still in 1st place overall with a 5-1-1 record, and even more impressive is 5 of the 7 games have been on the road, I will gladly take that record moving forward.
Spits have scored 41 goals so far just under 6 per game and have allowed 23 goals, including 2 empty netters .
Last year in comparison Windsor was 1-6 after 7 games, and they played 5 of their 7 at home unlike this season.
Goals for last season at this time was 20,with 40 against including 2 empty netters, big difference so far this season
PP last year was 3-32,9.3% and the PK was 21-28,75%
This season so far PP is 1st in the league at 37% and the PK is 79% -10th overall, huge improvement.
Should note at this time last year only 1 player was averaging a point or more per game, and that was Liam Greentree who had 5G,5A,10 Pts in 7 games
This year so far 10 players are averaging a point or more per game 9F,1D.
Goaltending wise last year Joey Costanzo in 5 games was 1-4,averaging .513 and save per centage of 821.
This year he is 5-0,averaging 2.40 per game and save per centage of .925
Froggett after 2 games is 0-1-1,averaging 4.46,save per centage
Last year Ian Michelone had played in 3 games, was 0-1,averaging 6.11 goals against and save percentage was .822.
Should note there are 13 players on this team that started last year here 1G,5D and 7F,so 10 new players,1G,3D,6F.
Overall very pleased with the start so far and that started for me during exhibition season.
Monday 's game should be interesting, Spits must not take Oshawa for granted as they have underachieved so far both Barlow and Senenneke have struggled.
While I expect Abraham back in the lineup, Davis and Outwater won't be from what I gather, expecting Costanzo back in goal.
Go Spits Go.

Tough matchup for Oshawa this afternoon closing out a weekend road trip. Chronically injured Luke Torrance will be back in the lineup, but Oshawa is still woefully thin up front as well as on the blue line.

Sennecke has not looked good since returning from Anaheim - - he’s doing way too many careless no-look behind the back passes instead of just using his speed and size to drive the net.

Colby Barlow has looked atrocious since coming over from Owen Sound. He hit the post in his first game with Oshawa and that’s been the closest he’s come to registering a point this year.

The overmatched rookie defenceman Blaseg is mercifully scratched, but his replacement Rodriguez hasn’t been much better.

Jake Oster has been God-awful in net so far this year. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the start today, him or Gravelle.

Windsor should put up a bunch of goals which is good.
However that bad goal song gets played a lot too..

Glad I have family Turkey dinner today. First goal Cristo has to take the pass away or take Seneca and let Joey handle the shooter on the 2-1. 2nd goal Cristo to soft and Mathurin tries to take the pass instead of covering the open player behind him. Simple push that guy behind the net and no goal. Joey no chance on either. Maybe the line changes but very much looks like a bunch of individuals on forward today. Players taking low % shots when others are open for a better look. Lots of shots but none really that dangerous. Second chances non existent so far. Pick up your socks boys. Let's go Spits!
