I'm not one to really get after the officials but... this game has been, um, interesting.
Have missed calls both ways.I'm not one to really get after the officials but... this game has been, um, interesting.
How come when Windsor doesn't win it's always 1 of usual statements?5-3 Erie, incl four unanswered... erm, 6-3, five unanswered.
This one is two fold - a very good lesson for Windsor that every team is going to give you their best right now. Also, that reviewed goaltender interference goal that counted was kind of the turning point. If that doesn't happen...
Eichler barely touched him and the Erie player made no attempt to stop or change direction, instead continued through the Blue paint contacting Froggett on the far side of the crease. Seriously that is interference. The call was bad. If that was the other way around I would say the same thing. How come when Windsor doesn't win it's always 1 of usual statements?
The call was very close. Eichler didn't help things..
Refs are what they always are. Agree you can't do anything about them but you have heard me say Windsor was lucky when they get a bad call go their way. They do balance out as you suggest over the seasonRefs are what they always are. This only comes up when on losing end.
They aren't going to improve.
Windsor got some calls this year. Will get some against them.
Can't do anything about the refs, though.
Windsor can move on and focus on next game.
They played 4 - 16 yr Olds last night so yes they can play 4.Windsor at Erie
Froggett gets the start
Not dressed for Windsor,Outwater, Davis and Garden
Add Manzo and Hicks
Spits going with 8D,10F,though they list Winegard upfront.
Garden out because they can't dress 4-16 year olds.
I sit on that far side of the crease right in front of the net. One of your players was on top of your goalie who was on his back. Our near side player missed a partially open net. We poked at the puck since there was no whistle and it went through his pads and slowly crossed the goal line. Once it went in Spence was cross checked from behind and onto your two players in the crease.Eichler barely touched him and the Erie player made no attempt to stop or change direction, instead continued through the Blue paint contacting Froggett on the far side of the crease. Appreciate the different perspective. The replay on TV and what the refs have access to are 2 different things. I got to credit the Otters for coming out and whooping our buts in the 3rd.I sit on that far side of the crease right in front of the net. It’s almost like the same thing that happened to your first goal of the game. Our guy tripped on our goalie. It happens, but this is why I believe they didn’t see interference. The goal had crossed the line prior to us having contact with the goaltender. These goals are the worst and the hardest to swallow. It probably didn’t help that the refs literally reviewed everything last night, missed calls, goals, offsides etc…
Our TV feed isn’t great which could be why it looked as interference. We apparently are stuck in the 90’s in terms of quality.Appreciate the different perspective. Both teams r fast n skilled. Our TV feed isn’t great which could be why it looked as interference. We apparently are stuck in the 90’s in terms of quality.
The Spits looked good in the first. They shut down any opportunities for us to even get past the neutral zone. We had like 3-4 shots on goal with 5 mins left in the first. Had we not had some commotion at the end of the first, it would’ve been a different game.
The thing that most impressed me about the Spits was the number of big skilled players they have. Tough to play against. Both teams r fast n skilled.
Going to be a good battle going forward.
Agreed on Greentree. I think he’s taking some time adjusting to being in a Spitfires uniform and realizing that unlike last year… now he has help. Can't be disappointed in the squad's performance. Another road game with the backup in net and posted 42 shots on net. Definitely didn't get the benefit of the calls tonight. That 3rd Erie goal was goalie interference, he slid right into the goalie taking him out of the play, if that is not goalie interference, what is?
Greentree is obviously a great player, not criticizing him, but sometimes he is guilty of trying to always deke through everyone when he has teammates wide open in prime scoring spots. Many times, he ends up losing it. It was noticeable on quite a few occasions in this one.
Anyways, you can't win every game. The daunting schedule continues against a desperate Oshawa squad that is somehow losing games. They have a stacked roster. After these next few games, the schedule gets better.
Windsor should put up a bunch of goals which is good.Tough matchup for Oshawa this afternoon closing out a weekend road trip. Chronically injured Luke Torrance will be back in the lineup, but Oshawa is still woefully thin up front as well as on the blue line.
Sennecke has not looked good since returning from Anaheim - - he’s doing way too many careless no-look behind the back passes instead of just using his speed and size to drive the net.
Colby Barlow has looked atrocious since coming over from Owen Sound. He hit the post in his first game with Oshawa and that’s been the closest he’s come to registering a point this year.
The overmatched rookie defenceman Blaseg is mercifully scratched, but his replacement Rodriguez hasn’t been much better.
Jake Oster has been God-awful in net so far this year. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the start today, him or Gravelle.
