WINDSOR
Hopefully the dominoes start to fall and move our older veterans who will fetch a return. Still sucks our best talent is our OA'S and they are still hard to move to a team contending unless they have a significant injury to one of their own OA's. Christopoulis, Peer, Maillet in that order for tradeability value. Dionicio's value defensively is still an issue. Offense he brings but at a defensive liability. Cristoforo is still a smaller non-physical D. Shot is substandard to quarterback the PP. No Ryan Ellis for sure as first hyped by many. Ellis had the shot and a physical attitude while also being a smaller frame D.

as he should be, all respect to the kid, but he never was that good and i dont get why anyone wanted to make him out to be more then what he was.
I think it may have to do with the allure of him moonlighting at F or D. I'm not saying what he was better at playing but this shows he didn't have much value. We agree they weren't going to be good this year. That didn't mean Smith had to play Jodoin on D 20 mins a night the first couple weeks.

The Spitfires actually have more 2nd round picks than several teams in the conference. They have more 2nds than :Erie, Kit, London, Soo, OS, and the same amount as Sarnia.
Teams having similar amount of picks and performing better than Windsor isn't a flex for Windsor thinking they're in good shape. For example Kitchener has fewer picks but a lot of their players are playing great hockey along with having 3-4 07's in the lineup every night. They might have the best D in the league, a highly touted import that just returned and 3-4 OAs where they can sell high on. It's just looking at each team and seeing who is in better shape and right now it isn't Windsor.

According to the Spits website, Greentree is hopeful to play.

I hope you are right and that he does return tonight vs London, though it would not surprise me that he doesn't suit up till Saturday or Sunday vs Saginaw.
Abraham is supposed to play,Dionicio would not surprise me that he plays,as both Manzo and Lavigne played for La Salle last night,I am sure 1 of them would have been held out otherwise.
Eichler has 1 game left on his suspension to serve, will see him on the weekend vs Saginaw,Woodall still out 2-4 weeks, and forward Jack Nesbitt is still away at the U17 tournament in Prince Edward Island, plays tonight if they lose tonight, imagine he will return for the weekend,if they win unlikely he plays at all this weekend.
To sum it up while I would be pleased if Greentree is good to go today,I am OK with Abraham and Dionicio both in tonight, and hopefully Greentree is good to go Saturday or Sunday, dont want to rush him back.

Spits 6 points out of 9th place. Nothing to gain by rushing players back into the lineup before they are healed.

Very weird perspective for the Spits. Every game is against teams that are higher in the standings then the Spits. Hopefully that is motivation for them and the opposite for their opponents. Spits won't have trouble tonight getting up for the game. It is always fun beating the dreaded Knights but alas it may not turn out well, but here's hoping!

Hoping for goaltending like we saw last weekend. That would go a long way in keeping the games respectable.

As noted above I'm starting the weekend full of hope.

Play hard Spits!

Best of luck to him. Hope he is able to play close to home.
Agreed part of the organization for almost 5 years, popular player.
Interestingly including the now departed Jodoin, the Spits have used 11 different dmen since the start of the year and we are only 15 games into the season.
Last year at this same time Windsor had used 7 dmen, including 2 rookies Christoforo and Thomas Hebek.
This year so far of the 11,7 are rookies, and only Christoforo is the lone D from last year left at the 15 game mark.
Dionicio was added at the deadline and Toms was added 4 games ago.
Should mention of the 7 rookie dmen,6 were drafted by Windsor and 1,Walton was acquired by trade.
4 were drafted this year,Manzo, Lavigne, Eichler and Hjelholt, 1 last year Woodall, and 1 two years ago Winegard.
Quite the turnover.

O'Flaherty and picks to the Knights for Brody Crane.
Interesting trade if anything

Knights got 2 3rds and 4th beside O'Flaherty in this trade for Crane.
With O'Flaherty mom a lawyer she should investigate this ,after all theft is crime and London is guilty lol.
U need both sides to agree.
The gm is just as guilty then..

Big game against our biggest foes. First battle of the season. I'm just hoping for a good effort and see the right things being done out there. All three games last week were good efforts considering the circumstances the boys were under. Goaltending last week was promising too, I'd say the best week of games from the goalies for sure this season.

Not expecting the win today. Hunters always prepare there team for battle against us or any team really. They will adapt there gameplan on the fly and make changes where needed. I just hope Smith and our coaching staff is ready to play chess tonight. Need to come with a good gameplan and be able to adapt o the fly.

The Players need to come play with effort and more urgency, They should be pissed off sitting In the basement of the stangings. Its still pretty early in the season but in a big hole so far and if there's any sliver of hope of a playoff spot the boys gotta play consistent solid hockey & Our goalies gotta play like they did last weekend and there atleast giving this team a chance to win every night.

Go Spits Go!!!

This is why London is always good. They somehow get opposing GM's to heavily overpay. They got more than Niagara did for the LeBlancs, more than Peterborough for Lockhart (i know he's an OA). and more than Sudbury did for Chromiak.

Getting 2 3rd's, 4th, and O'Flaherty for Brody Crane who has 0 goals and two points this season is just crazy. What could Windsor get for Abraham then? Crane is 19 year old and averaged 0.4 PPG in his OHL career. Abraham is .8 PPG in his OHL career. Might be time to get on the phone if these are the going rates for 19 year olds. Return for Dionicio would be solid.

I can see posters on other team's boards that are not happy with this London Niagara stuff either. It's just insane how London appears to robbing Niagara. People are not happy.

Sooner or later we need to accept how bad our roster is and quit overrating our players or go after coaching. It is either Bowler's issue or the coaching staff's. One controls the roster and the other controls thier play and accepted efforts and lack of discipline. Not much of a line drawn in the sand punishing the passengers to date. Being in the cellar teams take us fairly lightly as one would expect. The Soo coasted against us for 50 minutes and turned it on enough late to get it done without much resistance. We are at that stage other than our recent goalie performances that we don't play well, more like others take usfor granted. At least give the fans a blue collar effort every game and I will cheer the team despite loses as a rebuild is in progress.

Didn’t we just rob Niagara like 4 times in the last 12 months? One of which included moving O Flaherty?

Welll maybe the castle trade didn’t rob them, but at the time it had potential lol
