Wonderman themed. Nice- obvious super hero uniforms compared to some years, reminds me of the old Atlanta Flames jerseys.

Connor Lockhart suspended indefinitely because of a Durham police investigation. ??? Maybe that is why his trade price was not that high. Wonder if it is a recent issue or the reason Vancouver let him go.

Lets be clear, draft picks can be rolls of the dice, BUT if you do your homework, have solid connections, and have to correct mindset about what you want in physical attributes you can load the dice to roll your way! Then you need proper handling of said young men to enhance those abilities.
Now your Spits, have a pretty damn solid head scout, but he takes his orders from your GM. So i like the homework coverage here. Solid connections??? Not so much, i in fact know many that refuse to give your GM the time of day! That leads to who makes the call with all that info in front of him, BB. Hes leans toward undersized players with a serious lack of physicality, concerns himself with offensive numbers and neglects D capabilities. Grit? He seemingly doesnt even use that in his decisions. Yes before i hear it again, i want him fired! But i will justify my arguments with facts, nothing skewed or made up. Do I believe he gets axed? Nope, the Savages have unfortunately tied him in to deeply to make that even remotely easy! But i can hope!

The import draft is so strange. And with the import draft ban of Russians and Belarusian’s it made it even stranger. There is talk that they could be reinstated this year, which would be great for all party’s involved.

A big thing to understand with imports, is you can only hold the rights of two of them at the same time unless one of your imports was a first round pick, you can selected one more and stash them on your reserve list.

So while Dvorsky was an excellent selection by Sudbury, in order to keep his rights they had to play with one import for over a year. It’s a risky proposition, do you take the über talented kid that let you know he may come in the future, depending on what his NHL team may want in the future - or do you go with a kid like Eichler who isn’t a game changer, isn’t going to help you win or lose games but will fill a roster spot? Risk verse reward.

Import draft is run by agents and is more of a NCAA recruitment process than it is an actual draft lol. Good news for Windsor is that they’re one of the more desirable locations to play in the CHL for imports, so with the high pick they’ll have this year I see no reason why they’d have trouble getting an Elite talent with their first selection.

If the import is just a roster filler, there are plenty of those home grown players. Take the flyer and wait.

Sudbury still got a year out of Chromiak in 22-23. Now Dvorsky this year and their import goalie. I think thats a trade off a lot of teams would do. London only had one import last year and they have two this year. If Eichler wasn't 19 next year I would be fine with him having another year. This is more about getting younger, getting more talent and building for 25-26, 26-27.

Honestly wish they would reinstate the Russians and Belarusians. Not to be political but we all know the war is Putin's personal vendetta and these young hockey players just want to play hockey. The CHL still needs to bolster its league as the premier development league. The Olympics allow athletes to still compete just not under the Russian flag so why can't tge CHL do the same. Their representing a CHL team not team Russia.

I don’t think it’s any secret that this coaching staff will not be here at the end of the season. Let them go down with their sinking ship and this year will go down as one of the worst in the franchises history with their names to thank for it. We will be able to collectively thank them for either the first, second or third overall pick, and get a (hopefully) elite talent this franchise can build around and things will be better by next season.

For the remaining games of the season, all we can do is hope for progression from the 2006 born players and Jack Nesbitt. We should stop shoving responsibly down Smith and Abraham’s mouths because they won’t be here next season and are not the type of kids you’d want the younger guys to look up to on the ice.

It’s a lost season, I see no need to complain about it anymore. Accept that the team is trash, and look forward to next season and cheer on the draft eligibles this year.
I agree with what you said other than Smith and Abraham… I’m afraid they’ll both be here next season.

Well a 3 & 3 weekend. No easy opponents, I mean for Windsor at this point there are NO easy opponents. Do we think there is a win in there somewhere?
I think if there are points to be had it might actually be in London. If Spits use there size and foot speed then maybe they can pull an upset. Pete's did it, why not the Spits??!

Wonder how the goalies line up for the weekend? Costanzo should get at least 1 game?

Hopefully the Ice dogs and Colts keep winning!

I would agree. If they found a way to play Jodoin for 8 games I don't see how any of the 04s Abraham/Toms/Struthers/Smith at least a couple of those guys don't find a way to play in a game. I would say he played because they traded DeAngelis but they seemed insistent on playing 3 OAs while Christopolous was recovering. There was a choice that you just go with 2 OAs at the time and just use a guy on an affiliate card.

I think they can find a way against Erie tonight. The Otters have lost 7of8 on the road since Christmas. Why not add to that list?

London is going to be a beast on Friday. My worry is that London gets a lead, gets Windsor into some penalties, and it goes stupid.

OS on Saturday should be fun. Windsor proved they can beat them so why not repeat it?

I see the Ice Dogs are bringing up 3 affiliate players to fill the bench so they either have suspensions or injuries. Can’t expect too much help from them winning games.

Erie looks like a decent shot at a win as does Owen Sound but London is a horse of another color.

Abraham I'm torn. Can be really valuable if he keeps his nose to himself. Stupid penalties does not lead a team as an OA. Keeps to plying hockey hexis fine for a spot. SMITH on the other hand plays hard occasionally, mostly a passenger woth head and heart elsewhere. Hoping he moves on.

Our 06' On I'm excited about.

04's and 05's? Not so much.

04:
Abraham, Smith, Morneau, Zhugin, Struthers, Toms.
With a high import draft pick, safe to assume we move Zhugin. Abraham will be an OA in Windsor for better or worse. I'd take anything for Smith if we can move him, similar for Morneau. They both have flashes, and Morneau isn't a light up the scoresheet guy, but he's pretty responsible out there. Our OA crop next year will be significantly worse than this year. Peer/Maillet/Mancini/Christopoulos were all better at the start of 23/24 then Abraham will be at the start of 24/25… Struthers and Toms? Wouldn't be in the lineup tonight if it wasn't a numbers issue.
On the brightside, we have the picks to bring some guys in, but don't want to overspend next year. Maybe someone will cut a decent 04' due to numbers in the offseason we can sign.

05:
Martin, Greenwell, Winegard, Costanzo
Costanzo get his OA year as long as he can rebound… none of those guys will fit that team in a Go-For it attempt while we have a final season of our 06' crew. We have plenty of time to add an OA 05' though and it would probably be cheaper to do later, than bring in a guy now… that may not even make that OA year due to moving on.

I don't think we're in an awful spot for the future. For the next two months? We're fudged.

Agree with most of your post. I still want Morneau moved, he does try hard but still is 4th worst +/- on the team only only following Tom's, Davis (who is young) and Zhugin. Clear them out other than Davis on that front
