Why would Windsor give more to Niagara had he played an overage season? The other way around. The receiving team at the time promises more if that player plays an overage season. In this case. 1 game constitutes on overage season.
You realize Zito got traded to North Bay rfrom Niagara? And there were conditions on the draft picks North Bay gave Niagara about an OA season?

The conditional picks in Zito’s trade to North bay we’re a 3rd and 5th.

I’m wondering why some people on this board seem to think Windsor gets the 3rd and 5th back When from how I read it, Windsor gets a 4th and 5th back from Niagara.

If Zito plays one game for Windsor, it's a 3rd/5th to NB, but Zito/4th/5th to Windsor. It works out pretty well. I can see the crowd being excited for this one.

As for the other deals...

Peer - Not a huge fan of dealing the kid because of everything he's done on and off the ice, but I don't think anyone expected five picks in return. Take that and run, and give him a warm welcome when he returns.

Castle - He's got something left in the tank so hopefully Saginaw can figure it out.

Toure - Huge, physical, and a veteran... for a couple of picks, no biggie.

No big deal on Peer or castle leaving. Pickle juice gone...
Zito can produce at all would be welcomed.
Toure hopefully knows how to play defense. They need it.

If Zito doesn’t produce, we increase our odds of a 1st Overall pick.

If they found a spot in Saginaw of all teams for Castle, maybe Smith will find a landing place
While I have no problem re what u wrote about Smith, problem maybe card situation either we have 1 left or none,if it's none probably because Struthers is carded again speculating, pretty sure Greenwell and Stewart are not yet.
Perhaps after Wednesday things will be more clear in this area.
Toss in possible injuries to Martin and Outwater things get a bit muddled.

No big deal on Peer leaving? What? (side-note: he wasn't the only one who had pickles so they're staying)
Played very little defense. Floated a bunch. Long shifts.
Sure he scored a bunch. But was soft on opposition.

Struthers HAS to be on an A card. He was on an A card last year. No B Card for him. The moment he stepped on the ice this season Windsor burned an A card on him.

Are you sure,I know rule applies to 20 year olds but do not re others.
Reason being he didn't play for 15 games in a row till Sunday so it makes me wonder with him.

"A speedy forward who put up a point per game and was a leader off the ice didn't play much defence and didn't hit everyone... good riddance." LOL I'm not buying that. I get it, you want to disagree, but... there's no way.
It is the way..
U can buy all the swamp land .
Too many chefs in the kitchen
Bowler did the right thing by trading him.
Exactly..

Unfortunately I don't have the GM Handbook in front of me, but I believe this has been confirmed on multiple occasions.

For all this being a speedy forward, PPG player, leader off the ice. They have won 12 of 37 games this year. If they can lose 25 of 37 games with him they surely can lose without him.

Not everyone has to like Peer just because you did. Not my kind of player, he may be all those things you say but so far in his career he has been easy to play against when it counts. When the games get tight and the open space goes away ( like playoffs) he hasn't found a way to generate the same offense. Stick checking doesn't get the job done in playoffs. Tons of individual skill but soft.

That's fair I just don't get the attachment angle. Wyatt Johnston had a terrific 21-22 took the team on his back and got this team to the precipice of an OHL title. Peer developed his game, put up a lot of points. He's not exactly a driver of things as you can see this year when it has to be him they have issues. Peer wasn't going to be here after this year and the team isn't good so yeah you trade him.

Not my kind of player as well. In the end they got a bit more than I expected. I had said 2 3rds and a fifth . Notice none of those picks were 24s mostly farther out.

Lets try and figure out the cards. 30 total 2 temporary cards until late Oct/Nov. Can't recall the exact date for temporary cards. Games played for a B card to fill in for player away at a NHL training camp or WJC tournament game do not count. B carded players are automatically transfer to a A card at game 11. To trade for a player you must have an A card available. Struthers burned a card because he was traded to Windsor for future considerations in September. Here is where it gets interesting. Zito and Toure both burn a A card because we traded for them. Donoso was waived and picked up so until he plays 10 games with the Spits, a A card is not used yet technically. Christopoulos only played 9 games, Jodoin played 8 games,Stewart 9 games. No A cards used on those 3 players as far as I can tell. So, That means 27 A cards have been used for sure. 28 if Donoso plays 10 games. There is still room to add 2 possibly 3 players imo. Please let me know if I have left someone out of this calculation.

Christopolous and Jodoin would be automatic A cards as soon as they played their first game back as they were on A cards last year. I don't believe there are any cards left.

Because Jodoin was an OA he counted as a card, same applies Christopoulis and Donoso.
