Be a great “fan-favorite” to return that would help draw some interest to this tanking team. Would add a bit of protection for some younger guys too..

Only thing is… didn't he ask out? Maybe Windsor or Nowhere kind of opens up that option to come back
Yes he did ask for an OUT! it was because of the coach at the time!

They acquired lots of picks and 2 OAs for 3 OAs and an 04. I see Abraham and Zhugin as the only players of value left. Zhugin, being an Import will be difficult to deal. The picks are great but I would like to see a player or two with an upside (05, 06 or 07).

Despite constant criticism on these boards, Bowler gets the job done in building a team. The last coaching hire has been his only major mistake.

I think Bowler will buy younger quality D before tomorrow's deadline. The D should be gutted moving forward and with our 07 crop here due to limited picks last year, many holes to fill as well as potential OA'S for next year badly needed.

I’ve seen a bunch of trade alerts over the busy last few days. Would anyone following closer than me make an “In/Out” list of the trades we’ve made in this tear-down?
With Flint
Mancini & Peer Out
2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 11th In

With Ottawa
Michelone, Maillet Out
2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 5th, 12th (Donoso off Waivers from OTT) In

With Sudbury
3rd, 8th Out
Toure In

Overall
Mancini (OA), Peer (OA), Maillet (OA), Michelone, 3rd and 8th Out
Donoso (OA), Toure (OA), Three 2nd's, Four 3rd's, 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th

And now I'm hearing smoke on Zito being true away from this board (although this could be where it originated). Cool. I'd be happy to see Zito return.

Disagree re the D,4 rookies plus 17 year old Christoforo, don't see any further moves, pretty much out of cards anyways

Agreed. There's been some deals that haven't turned out well… but never were at an extreme cost. ie: a 4th for Smith, Castle coming back in Niagara - although the alternative was O'Flaherty who was traded and then released...

What a crazy morning. Toure is going to be fun to watch; giant on the backend. I'm disappointed that Peer is gone but five picks is more than anyone expected. Time to start bringing in some players, though. Zito would be nice, maybe someone younger, too. Keep it going!

FWIW, When announcing the Peer deal on X, Paiva said "The Spitfires are not done yet."

Could be win reference to an OA Waiver Add… but with it announcing a trade, makes me think, there may be a trade left.

Let's wait till he plays 1st..

If Zito plays then Windsor just screwed Niagara.:naughty: That was pretty savvy of Bowler.

Niagara pays North Bay for Zito to play here.

Appreciate it!

Bowler out of cards now I think.
Got to be done.
Still have dead wood on team but he did improve the draft cupboard.

Ahhh A Savard issue, not a bowler one. Glad to see him coming back. Always was a fan and fills that "Fan-Favorite" role we were so worried about losing with Peer.

The weird thing is..

Zito, Donoso and Toure I think are all upgrades over Maillet, Michelone and Mancini.
