Rebuild...rebuild...rebuild...rebuild...rebuild........thow about getting it right and win!

Don't disagree but the drop from Foudy to no Foudy is precipitous. If he came back now sure. If we have to wait 20 plus games for a return he isn't saving this team at that point. Is there a path to be a championship caliber team without him? I doubt it

i don’t think Foudy would help.
Not a big fan of his. If I recall nobody wanted to play with him a couple of years ago.

I feel Foudy does not want to play for the Spits.........anything but

I agree but will say that's not about Windsor though. He gets to learn more in the AHL. How to train like a pro. Playing against vets who are playing to put food on the table for their family. Not to mention he's living in Colorado which is gorgeous.

Re Foudy: IF he comes back, that's fine, but I'm not really caring either way. He'd be a help to the club, in one way or another, however I don't know if he's what we need.

Is this team going to be a contender?

In the summer I felt they were 2 top D, a first line RW and potentially a goaltender away from really being a contender. This was when Foudy was expected back, before the AHL exemption.

They have, off the top of my head

4 x 2nds
5 or 6 x 3rds
4 x ths

After the AHL deal someone mentioned if Foudy were returned they would trade him for assets even if Windsor were contending. They seemed to think 16 and 17 year old rookies could be major contributors to a title this year and next.

First thing Windsor needs is what Teflon has said for a long time a stay at home D who can clear the front of the net, shut down the opponents top line and make a good first pass out of the zone.

They also need a top pairing D who can run the PP, has a nice hard shot from the point that they can get on net and not be a defensive liability.

They need a top sniper on the RW along with Foudy back to centre that line.

Finally while this may seem like the top priority right now if they only replace Medina it doesn't change much else. The same D that can't do what this team needs will still be here. Maybe a new starter isn't giving up as many softies or 5 every second game but with the same support Medina has they're going to struggle more than cost would justify if the D isn't fixed first.

Windsor's problem is they don't have the assets to accomplish all that.

I agree this is on Bowler. He's built this team, he's had a couple of seasons to move on from Rychel's picks but he's stood pat until now.

He's had a couple of very nice drafts but rookies don't win titles and being short on assets make it hard to make deals.

This roster is better than they've show but even with Foudy they are not contenders. They are a potential top 4 in the conference who wouldn't get out of the conference and would be in a similar situation next year.

What is Bowler going to do?

need to replace ladd, im not sure what he does.

need a 1g, top 6f and a better oa either on the back end of forward. ladd isn't an oa on a good team. not sure who that goalie, not to many available right now.

Anson Thornton is the obvious choice if Windsor is looking for a goalie - He has been stellar for Sarnia and is the obvious #2 behind Gaudreau who is arguably the best goalie in the OHL.

Thornton will be back next season too so it’ll not be a 1 year rental. Medina + some draft picks will probably suffice.

The problem then becomes Medina goes into a situation where he's a clear #2. I doubt he'd accept it.

We need to give Downey a long look before bringing in another"#1" and I am not including Medina in that conversation.

The whole problem with this trade talk is the Spits have not shown they are a contender yet. They can't score goals. Why waste assets on upgrading your goalie when it clearly does not solve your biggest problem.

Also was Medina a decommit? If so not a good look to trade him unless he is willing or wants to move. I think for now what you see is what you get. Best chance for change is to try Downey with a few more starts. Maybe that will drive Medina to prove his worth. There is still time but with every weekend it gets harder to see a contender lurking.

I don't remember Medina having an NCAA commitment.

I think you give Downey more games. Medina gave up five again, for the third time in six starts. Go back to Downey and if he has another good start give him two in a row. I wouldn't try to push Downey into the starter's role just yet. Let the kid take it on slowly over the next few weeks. If he can handle two of three then let let take three of four etc. This also forces Medina to step up or move on if he won't accept the back up role.

As far as a trade goes, Windsor must decide what they want to do. If they think they can still contend come the Christmas break then move Medina and get an older starter.

If contending is no longer in the picture, and if this continues we will have an answer long before then then it's time to start planning for next year and getting the kids more experience.

3-3-1-0 Guelph coming in Thursday to face the 2-3-0-1 Spits.

Does Savard go back to Medina or my choice, gives Downey his second start?

Does he continue running with 10 or 11 forwards and dressing extra D or does he go 12F and 6D?

This team can't afford coming out of another weekend giving up more points than they get. Time to turn this around.

Needs to have more forwards playing for sure.
Short bench never helps.

If I am Savard I would start Downey vs Guelph, also would put Birkett and O'Flaherty back in to give him 12 forwards at his disposal.
Players I would sit out would be Jodoin and Ride, unless someone is banged up on the backend, in which case Ride would stay in.
Win or loss on Thursday, I would go back to Medina vs Kitchener here on Saturday.

Just wondering if the game VS Guelph Thursday (Today I suppose) is sold out?

I was looking online and couldn't find anything. Wouldn't even let me look.

Win or lose it all depends on how Downey plays. If the kid plays well you give him back to back and Medina takes the next game.

I know Medina played well in Kitchener, lost in a shootout but he can't keep having a good game followed by one where he gives up five goals.

Spits also need to see where Downey stands. Can he go multiple games in a row? Can he handle tougher competition? If Medina is going to continue to struggle can Downey take over in the short term?

I would prefer Downey playing one out of five right now to ease him in but with how much Medina has been struggling Windsor has to push Downey a bit more and as long as Downey does well you have to reward him and make Medina fight for the role if he doesn't want to lose it.

I doubt they're sold out, haven't sold out for a number of seasons.

If you are having trouble online I would just call the box office, 1-866-969-WFCU

Very very unlikely.

Anybody know if something is going on with the box office?

I tried buying online for the Guelph game. Wouldn't let me

Tried for 2 hours calling the 1866 numbers , never answered

I have been on hold with the local box office number where they don't do ticket sales for 1 hour.

The site is back up and running and plenty of tickets still available. If they get more than 2500 tonight, I'll be surprised. I mean, no disrespect to Guelph, but a non-rival the Thurs before Hallowe'en....
