William Nylander

I have been told by several people that Maurice switched up his coverage moving his top defensive line against Tavares line.

So once Tavares line was shutdown it was up to the Matthews line to carry the load. They scored 1 goal the last 4 games?

So the 1st. line for the Leafs, while facing drastically lesser opposition the last 4 games, did not fare well?
He’s been told that several times Hes admitted to it then clearly ignored it when it’s convenient

He seemed ok with how the season ended, they made a good step and have grown.

“I mean, lost in a Game 7 against the Stanley Cup champs. I think that’s a pretty good step. And I think we’ve grown together and learned a lot of things and I think when you have a group that goes through hardships together it just makes them stronger in the end.”

Team talk, wouldn't expect much else.

Easy for him he knows where he's playing next year.

Nylander will stay for few more years. Bad planning by Marner. Should have made a shorter deal so Nylander was the next in line for a signing. Then Nylander would have been the one leaving.

Yes, I don’t negate Willy’s immense talent. I just would want to build my team differently.

Look at Florida’s scoring in the playoffs.

I will also say - I think the Leafs are closer than most fans thinks. Also, points are overrated by fans.
We will not win the cup by copying Florida. Florida will always be better at being Florida.

I hate how everyone thinks it's playstyle. Like we don't have money for goalies or D or something.

Sure that logic would fly if we scored goals constantly, but our biggest problem consistently in the postseason is goal scoring and powerplay.

How?????

He didn't throw the team under the bus like some. He also said that he didn't play well in the last few games.

He was probably expecting Dubas to still be around for his next contract negotiations.

By that stupid logic, Crosby and MacKinnon REALLY gave up.
Did Mac have a few fly-by shifts in his game 7? I bet he was engaged and was trying despite the fact it was hard. Not Willy. He wouldn’t do it against Tampa and he sure as heck wasn’t doing it against Florida. He was so bad that Matthews called him out for being a passenger

No wonder this plane keeps crashing when the passengers log more goals and points than the Captain. May as well say we lost because William couldn’t score double the points he did. Nevermind he potted more goals than me and my co-pilot combined. Unbelievable.

Or what about play hard in game 7. He literally quit because it was too hard. We all saw the Tampa play and were flabbergasted that a guy wouldn’t take a hit to make a play, down 1 goal with 4 minutes left in game 7. Sunday was more of the same.
