William Nylander

It was my criticisms that got him going

All of you can send me beer money. You are welcome
IMO what really got him going is that the regular season ended - playoff Nylander has been money in the bank for a number of years now. That said, I'm in such an ebullient mood that I'd be happy to buy you a beer anyway.
GLG!!

Seems like Toronto media really want Mitch to feel special, or cater to his agent or something. I mean, sure, he’s good, but the way they speak about his goal (out of 2) is just bonkers - it’s a clear “whiff it away at goal and not lose the put to the rushing Panther”-shot, that Bryzgalov totally should’ve had. Meanwhile, no one even bothers to talk about how amazing that play by Nylander was, that was some elite hand-eye in high speed.

Whats up with that?

He's European. Basically it.

We want good ol Canadian boys.

Willy came through big time after I asked him to step up .. he beasted game 6 win and he was a major helper in both games 1 and 2 .. that said and I know you guys may not understand this but he can do even more .. he still needs to come back into his own end much harder to help out on defense .. his offensive speed explosion last night was stuff of legend though and to make such a skilled play at lightning speed is out of this world

Patches is a god sent I was giving him a hard time but he’s been amazing if it wasn’t for him we’d be complaining a lot more than we are that much is for sure
He definitely has been a revelation. It's nice to have a team where they no longer curl up in the fetal position when things go wrong. This team seems to be a team...not core 4-5 or whatever and a bunch of mercenaries on 1yr deals that are here just to leave in the summer after they get the TO bump for salaries.

This is a team that fully expects someone to step up...anyone...and have a big moment. Quite the departure from our other teams.

Listened to the radio all day today and heard nothing close to what you are describing.

It’s all in your head.

Willy's made enough of those spectacular plays this playoffs that we've become jaded. "Ho hum, another one." It wasn't until I saw another replay at a stoppage that I realized he'd shaken off contact, outrun coverage, and kicked the puck up to his stick before burying it.

Mitch scored his first goal in 7 games, and it happened to be the winner, so they have to celebrate. (I did too.)
