Crazy how 'fans' will go to such great lengths to try and put down one of their own players who's leads the team in scoring by 18 points and currently sits 4th in the league.
Really can't think of anything more bizarre, so weird.
Early candidate for most ironic post of the year. BTW, here's a stat that I would never even think of posting but as a response to your nonsense, it seems fitting:

With 2 goals so far tonight, Nylander now has twice as many goals as Marner this season. Yes you read that right, for every goal Marner has scored, Nylander has scored two. How do you like them apples?

That's some fine goal scoring company. One of these players thinks he is worth $14m. The rest make $15m combined.

What the hell?

I know Matthews has missed games, but that really shouldn't be the case considering how often Marner and Matthews have played together at ES.
Matty is having a rough season, and has missed 15 games.

Another odd stat: JT has as many GWG as Matty and Mitch combined (Willy has one more).

split him from Mitch and watch the old Matthews return. Mitch to busy being cute holding on to the puck to long and wrecking team momentum for personal stats for his contract year. Said this way back.

...because you specifically crafted your image to cut off all of the more expensive players with the same number of goals... Not to mention the ones with less. Marner also has more assists than all of the players you listed combined.

Go Willy Go,

This is why Willy is paying early dividends and returning value on his new contract.. :thumbu:

Leafs could have a 2nd Rocket Richard trophy winner on their current roster.

Would be pretty awesome if Willy managed to win the Rocket somehow. Also kinda hilarious cause a Leaf wins the Rocket again but not the guy who you think it'd be lol
That would be a bit hilarious, and also super cool! I don't see him pulling ahead of Drai though, not impossible but also not likely. That said, I don't really care either as long as he can keep producing in the playoffs the way he produces during the regular season. Considering he's the only star player we have who's managed to do exactly that up to this point I'll also say what I've said many times before - Nylander is that last guy I'm worried about. Now if M&M&JT can stop fading away as the playoffs go on, we'd have a chance of making some noise. I like noise, it's been a while.

Yeah, if we had a better PP where he was used more as a shooting option (almost like last night) I think he'd have more of a chance. That being said, his motivation and consistency sometimes dip, so having him in the Rocket race at this point like a carrot on a stick is a good thing.

It really is why he is not a superstar. Always has around 10-20 games where he doesn not much of anything.

Goal scorers are streaky, but Willy seems to take it a little far.

88 just might be the most skilled player on the Leafs.
He definitely has the most tools to be. He's probably top 2/3 on the Leafs when it comes to each category of speed, strength, playmaking, and shooting.

If Draisaitl keeps playing with McDavid, he's got in on lock (hope I'm wrong). I just hope Willy hits 50 this year!

Even if he doesn't play with McDavid all year, the PP will most likely be enough for him to grab the rocket.

On pace for 51. It is up to him to decide how much he wants it. Did not care much about getting to 100 points last season so your guess is as good as mine. I hope he gets there.
We still blatantly overpaid Willy but if he comes away with 50+ goals and potentially a rocket it atleast makes it a bit easier to stomach.

2 goals behind Drai at ES and 2 behind on the PP. And about 10% less ice time.

The assist numbers being down is almost 100% on the linemates ye?
Considering that the most common comments about most of his linemates is either that they are 4th liners or not NHL players....

The quantity and quality of his passes is the same, but with all the injuries the quality of the receivers is down.
