Bruce Broudreau nice list, Willy is #1. Shocking because Willy doesn't lead the team in points. Guess the former NHL coach thinks goals are more important.

You got to start with William Nylander," Boudreau said on Tuesday, via TSN. "Look at what he's done for the Leafs. And you know what? Every time he scores, he smiles. It's pretty cool. And with all the Leafs injuries this year, whether it's Auston Matthews or anybody else, and they've had a lot of them, he's been the bright shine, bright, shiny light, and he's kept them where they are.
So William Nylander is No. 1 for me, No. 2 on the 'nice list' has got to be the Washington Capitals, and they're doing this without their leading goal scorer back in the lineup," Boudreau said. "So I mean, I got to give Washington Capitals and their staff and everybody else great kudos for being where they are

Kypreos says Berube giving preferential treatment to Nylander.

All I can say is no-poop.

There is a balance, but I think most understand this isn't a houseleague or a user-pay for ice-time league.

But it does bring up something I've suggested several times in the past.

Quality over quantity.

3 forward lines
1 penalty kill line

6 defenders

Same Cap Hit divided by fewer players.

If you happen to luck out with a few ELSC contracts, that's a bonus.

The tone of that article and Kypers take is more than a bit presumptuous. Nylanders out there because the coaches are fine/want him out there not because he gets to do what he wants

It’s not unusual to play your best goal scorer more than others.
There is zero chance Bérubé is doing anything he doesn’t want to do.

It’s hard not to like Willy with his always positive upbeat manor
Is that anything like Wayne Manor?

He is also statistically the most likely guy to get a goal on the team. Probably a good reason to keep him on the ice.

Some of the analysts were kind of laughing about the shift as near the end of the shift he backchecked to recover a puck, outracing everyone else.

Facetiously speaking, the "Long Program" is 4 minutes and 30 seconds for men. Maybe Kypreos thought it was the women's program, which is only 4 minutes.

Had some great chances that he couldn’t bury last night to go along with some first class zone blowing that ended up in a goal against.

I'm not particularly worried about the chances that he's not converting at the moment. He's getting chances, mainly through his own efforts, and the goals will come.

I'm more concerned about the fact that his linemates are neither setting him up nor converting his setups. It looked like every time he had the puck the Caps were putting two men on him, to an extent ignoring his linemates.

He's def snake bitten a bit. If he can convert at a normal/higher rate he's going to be the early 2023 Willy we saw.
Actually, he has two more goals than at the same time (37 games) last year.

I think he's playing better this year, and the biggest difference is that his linemates aren't converting.
