He is not putting him out there in the same defensive situations and is giving him the ice time he deserves.

I guess it means nothing, we can leave it at that, the reduction in ice time and specific scenarios is irrelevant.
You don't think the statement "I don't have a problem with his game" might mean he doesn't have a problem with his game?

His actions don't reflect that, but sure, we can say Nylander has been perfect and Berube has limited his playing time for fun.

I think Willy’s ice time and his line are doing incredible and Berube shouldn’t change a thing.

MM will complain so they probably need to give Willy more D zone starts and that pp2 placement will really do the trick.

Because you know. Marner gotta get his big contract.

Nylander is making JT and Pacioretty look 10 years younger right now.

No doubt he has entered top 10 winger in the league ranks. So dynamic offensively.

He is like top 6 or so and this is not shocking. When he was drafted everyone said he had the potential to go 1st in his draft but was lacking disciplines. The toolbox was there.

This seems like a thinly veiled put down of Nylander who's actually been arguably our best player so far this season. Defer to authority if you like, I'm not afraid to say Berube's screwing up here with the ice time.

Marner playing almost 4 minutes more per game than Nylander makes zero sense. Funny how Marner's camp is unhappy he's playing so much and Nylander's camp is unhappy he's playing so little. I guess that means nothing to you either but that's cool, you stick to your agenda.

Other than his porno pete moustache Nylander hasn't given critics much ammo the last couple years.

Well I mean there is the fact that he's soft. And I guess there's also the fact he's defensively inept. There's also a good argument to be made he won't live up to that massive contract he signed last year.

But other than those small minutia it's pretty hard to find fault in him.

I like him better than Marner. At least Nylander can keep his mouth shut. He also doesn't wage war with anyone who doesn't worship him as a god on skates.

The biggest problems I have with Nylander are all of my own making.

I'm seriously jealous of hair for one thing. He's also way better looking than me too. Although to be honest most people are so that's not a huge accomplishment.

But seriously dude.. what's up with that moustache.

Marner is always hanging around the blue line so naturally transitioning to defence is easier. Nylander goes everywhere on the ice, and I couldn’t care less if he has “defensive deficiencies”.

Either way, Willy has arguably been their best played so far this year

I'm not arguing if he deserves more ice time, I am arguing that in the eyes of the coach, he is not playing great defensively, and it shows with the comments/ice time.

I thought I heard that Hhe’s only been on the ice for 3 goals allowed and a couple were his turnover at the offensive blue line

The difference in ice time had been basically PK and time played on defensive situation...

Marner/Matthews had been basically better player but Nylander line convert at higher rate this season.

His producion was 200% from expected on both side of the puck and marner by exemple is at 84%. And despite lack of conversion of his line, they've got the same amount of pts.. Its hard to believe than both will continu at the same rate of conversion all season.

It is unlikely marner ends up with 8 goals.

We should hope that Berube has figured out who he's going to play on the second line.

If it is Pacioretty and Tavares great.
If not figure it out.

Don't be ridiculous. Nylander's been playing great, Berube just needs to take his head out of his ass.

Last season Marner averaged 1 minute 22 seconds more ice than Nylander. This season the gap in ice time has grown to 3 minutes 39 seconds. Don't waste your time trying to explain how this makes sense, it doesn't.

As far as production predictions, I really don't care. We're going to make the playoffs, how they perform at that time is my only concern. I feel like can count on Nylander to play at his usual high level, when it comes to Marner I can only hope for the same.
