In 2010, Krejci got hurt in Game 4 and Gagne came back in Game 4. Two completely different teams from Games 4-7, compared to Games 1-3.

Poulin and Propp were one of the best PK tandems for years.
The guy scored over 1,000 points while, at the very least, being well above average defensively.
Carbonneau was only good defensively with a career high of 26 goals, and only four 20 goal seasons. He had 1 season above 70 pts.
Propp had eight 30 goal season and four of those were 40+ and four 90+ point seasons.
Propp was far better.

To me one of the biggest disappointments were the wasted years off Krejci's career. He was our #1 center, but he got supplanted by Bergeron. Bergy was great but we became a one-line team for several years as Krejci was left to play on makeshift lines that lacked star-quality wings.

Personally I think the only way to improve this team is to go back in time a decade and trade Tuukka Rask.

I want to believe that ownership will relieve this current management group of their duties, or at least the GM. Time to look at some “outside” options for leadership who have zero “Bruins culture” under their belt. Don Sweeney and Cam Neely came up through the ranks here and really only know one way of doing things.
The Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche and Las Vegas Golden Knights might be good places to look for new forward-thinking executives. Their GMs as possible candidates to replace Neely, and their assistant GMs as replacements for Sweeney. The likelihood of reeling someone in from one of these teams is small, given that these teams would be reluctant to let them go and the high cost they would command anyway, but I would start there.

Compare them to some old Montreal Gazette hockey beat writers:
Red Fisher: as old as dust and crankier than f***. Wouldn't even acknowledge any other staff under 60. The music critics were avid Habs fans and he wouldn't even nod hello at them. He was more acerbic than old vinegar.
Jack Todd: a US draft dodger who started out as bitter and funny...then funny left town and he was just a bitter writer. He seemed to lose any humour after some personal accident. I think he fell slipping on ice and he was on LTIR for a good while. Came back bitter at the world.
Or how about Toronto's Steve Simmons who was singled out at Brian Burke's retirement as "I won't miss you"...lol.

My good friend Dave and I used to watch the Bruins games together in Rhode Island on the old Channel 38. Dave was a big fan of Nifty—his favorite Bruin. I cooked up the idea to call Dave from Florida and put Middleton on the line. He graciously agreed and we made the call. When Dave answered I told him I had Nifty on the line for him and he wouldn’t believe me!
Middleton got on the line and it was a long time before Dave realised it was really Nifty himself. They had a great conversation and Dave was in hockey heaven for a long time. Good times and great memories . . .
