Will Quenville be coaching in the NHL next season?

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Just more proof that the NHL is an old boys nepotism club. There are hockey teams, players and coaches all over the globe but the NHL just keeps hiring these same old white guys over and over again.

Why not bring literally ANYONE else into the NHL? Maybe a SHL coach? or someone coaching really good high school hockey? Maybe a that dude at the laundromat that actually separates his colours and his whites, maybe he can fix your powerplay?

Please stop recycling these same assholes over and over.

What’s the fact he’s white have to do with anything babe

“Your teams perverts are worse than my teams perverts.”

If a person really cared as much as they pretend to online they would quit watching and supporting all professional sports.

But it’s all empty moral grandstanding and a chance to take a shot at another organization who didnt do as well with its sexual assault coverups as your team did.

This is gonna be an unpopular opinion but he has way less culpability than every other person that was in that meeting including Bowman, Chevaldayoff, et al.
He had other things to deal with at the time while everybody else didn't.

Its not an unpopular opinion it’s the correct one. A business worth hundreds of millions of dollars didn’t have an hr department or protocol in place to deal with anything like this. And I’m almost certain Q wasn’t provided with any kind of training on how to identify or deal with what happened

I just want to win a cup and want the best coach available. If it brings Lord Stanley here after years of frustration, I don't care if Quenneville was the one who redesigned all the Pizza Huts in America in the early 2000s.

And it’s this line of thinking that creates an environment where a predator like Aldrich can victimize people.

Because as head coach when one of your coaches has potentially sexually assaulted one of your players, there is nothing else that’s more important than finding out what happened and taking the proper steps based on the info you find.

Quenneville was an active participant in trying to make this go away. He should never work in the NHL again.

I don’t know that any amount of training can give someone a moral compass.

And yes the Blackhawks had an HR department. The organization decided to cover up what happened and Quenneville participated in that. He had endless opportunities to do something and he chose to help cover it up. As a result of his and the organization’s inaction, at least one other young man was sexually assaulted by Aldrich.

Yea, but Chevedale and Bowman are.
And nobody is is freaking out about it today. Quenville will get same consideration. Like it or not it's the way it is.
Seems completely hipocritical to demonize and ban Quenville while millions cheers and throw money at Bowman and the Oilers.
Right or wrong ....if Bowman and Chevedale are permitted and oaid handsomely to work in the NHL ....so can Quennville.

There's no debating that the organization f***ed it up, but what was Quenneville's culpability really? He was like the lowest ranking of six people in a meeting that took place the day after they clinched the western conference to discuss some then-unsubstantiated allegations and the consensus wound up being "let's handle this in ten days, go focus on the finals", and then after the finals the idiots in the HR department let Aldrich quit instead of going through with an investigation.
