Post-Game Talk: GAME 73 - Daffy Duck finally shoots Elmer Fudd - Anaheim 6 BRUINS 2

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Mathematically eliminated now.

Can't realistically catch SJ and Chicago but 3rd overall is not inconceivable.

Is there a line that would push ownership to make a GM change? Or are they giving up on the season too?
Sweeney and Neely have spent the past decade swinging for the fences on questionable draft picks and signings while having the safety net of Bergeron, Chara at al. Now they have none of them and no prospect pool to speak of. Does management have the Jacobs around their finger or is it possible that Don's job is at stake?

I think it i safe to say that ownership signed off on giving up on the season before Don sold at the deadline. This doesn't mean that Don is safe, but I am sure throwing up the White Flag was approved.

And if they make a decision to change leadership that MUST start with Neely.

I still want this team to win every game. Being happy with, or cheering for a loss, goes against everything I stand for. I don't give a shit if we improve a couple of percentage points for a lottery pick. I wanna find out who's committed to winning and who's just along for the ride.

One thing I'm 1000% sure of, is that this coaching staff needs to go.

Slightly off topic (but it beats discussing the game), I actually heard Maiden's Hallowed Be Thy Name played at the Islanders game a couple of nights ago. I'm big into the guitar-driven 80's rock and was very impressed with the Isles' music.

Whitesnake's Still of the Night (slow middle section) and Skid Row's Youth Gone Wild were cued up when the opposition scored. And the Isles' goal song is Joe Satriani's awesome Crowd Chant.

Interesting to see a game in Anaheim. They put on a good show. The fans were super into it, despite them being almost as bad as us. About 90% of capacity. $30 dollar tickets and cheap parking. Beautiful rink. Between periods they have a “party break” and there’s a DJ booth set up and gets the crowd going playing fun music and shutting off in spots so the fans can sing the chorus together. It was Anime Night so they put these fun anime things on the Jumbotron for power plays and had a video game sound like you just got a life back when the PK was over.

Lots of fun, and one game closer to picking that future #1 center.

Kevin I like your new profile pic :D
@Aussie Bruin, Can you imagine being the person that has to promote this game on ABC?
