Voted no. But I wouldn’t put money on that.

McDavid currently shooting 21.9%. His previous career high was 17.1% 4 years ago. Career average of 15.1%. If we apply those shooting percentages to his current shot rates (3.87 spg) thru the remaining games (43) we get:

Current: 69.4
Career High: 61.4
Career Average: 58.1

Ovi currently shooting 15.9%. His previous career high was 15.4% 3 years ago. Career average of 13.0%. Same process for Ovi (4.40 spg over 42 games).

Current: 57.3
Career High: 56.4
Career Average: 52.0

Nothing scientific here. But I think a few things can be concluded.

- McD is converting an unsustainably high amount of his shots right now. He’s likely to come back down to earth.

- Ovi is also shooting at an all-time high shooting percentage, but it’s in line with recent history as he’s shot 15% or better 3 of the previous 4 seasons. So I wouldn’t expect him to drop off too much.

Ignoring the difference in age and likelihood of their respective bodies slowing down, I’d expect Ovi to make it close, but odds are McD ends up ahead.
