No, not really….currently, scoring is way higher than it’s been in the last 20 years. 1985, Gretzky scored 208 pts, goals per game per team was 3.89….it’s currently 3.22

Even if that's the case, the last player to score 150 was Lemieux in 95-96. If McDavid could do that now, against today's defense and today's goaltending, I would be hard-pressed to not put him up there.

For someone with such a decorated career individually, I don’t think McDavid has hit a string of good puck luck yet.

We see players have a season where everything goes right and they crack 100 points.

I’m scared to see a season from McDavid where absolutely everything goes right. It might be as early as this year.

I wouldn’t unless he scores 150 and next best is sub-100….Gretzky was out scoring everyone by 70-80pts

Currently 22 points in 10 games for 2.2 PPG. Even if he cools off to a more reasonable PPG his strong start will propel him close to that number. Last to do it is Mario Lemiux in 1995, Jagr was close with 149. McDavid is just an absolute monster out there right now, I wouldn't put it past him to remain at 2.0 PPG the whole season.

Will McDavid do it? Discuss!
Simple answer No but not far off. A minor injury or illness will derail that.
Prediction 52 goals 80 assists ....
